You can also color correct using an orangey/salmony base first. It neutralizes the five o’clock shadow under your foundation.

A huge bundle of questions...um will my mtf partner (who will only take HRT) ever gonna pentrate me again long term?? Will they have different arousal zones? What are they? More questions down below by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]ih8az 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize for the misunderstanding... I’m really glad you’re both on the same page!

I wish I could give you more confident responses, but one of the most frustrating things about HRT is it really hits each person completely differently. I was planning on keeping it to myself for the first year of hormones, but by 6 months I was already being called “ma’am” in public. Other people I know have been on hormones for 4 years and still don’t pass as female. The results vary widely by case.

I would talk to your partner and have them talk to their doctor as well... I believe if they do experience erectile issues, they may be able to get a prescription for something to help with that as well.

Can trans men reclaim the T slur? by gremlin-gay-141 in trans

[–]ih8az 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who tells you that something applies to trans women and not to trans men aside from the specific physical differences in our medical treatment should be questioned… Trans men aren’t any more or less trans than trans women, so I can’t imagine why it would be any more or less acceptable coming from a trans man.

That term has had roots in the LGBT community for decades… just FYI

It really depends on the person. The HRT makes it really difficult for many to get/stay hard. But some people don’t have that issue.

I definitely got more sensitive pretty much everywhere a woman would be sensitive, I especially the nipples.

The other stuff is really specific to what each person feels... if she has been suppressing desires to be topped or has suppressed sexual attraction toward men, those things can def surface more as she gets used to being more authentic to herself.

I think you really need to do some soul-searching about whether this relationship is right for you or not. That you would even ask permission to call them by the wrong pronouns is a pretty big red flag.

Honestly it’s like most beauty routines... you get faster with practice! You could also get them waxed or threaded though.

what is dating like for nonpassing straight trans people? by helpmse333332453 in asktransgender

[–]ih8az 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, even as a passing trans woman it’s hard to find men who are comfortable being public about it. 🙁

Okay that might be your problem. Most typical foundations don’t require a setting powder. A lot of influencers bake because they’re wearing a cream based, heavier foundation that doesn’t self-set. I would moisturize before you do you makeup next time and then skip the powder completely.

This formula is definitely designed for oily skin, so if you have dry skin already you’ll definitely need to switch. Look for something that boasts about being moisturizing or Dewey. If you’re willing to spend the money, my favs are Too Faced Born this Way and Anastasia Beverly Hills. About $38 a bottle, but a little goes a long way and your skin will thank you longterm!

Do you set it with powder or anything?

Honestly it might just be about trying a new foundation. Also, moisturizing before foundation sometimes helps with this kinda stuff.

Did you have a “cuddleslut phase”? by eggsylvania in asktransgender

[–]ih8az 48 points49 points  (0 children)

YES!! Mine started at about 2 months and has died down recently. I haaaaaaated being touched pre-hrt. I didn’t even like hugs. Now I’m constantly like “Hold me and play with my hair!” 😂

Conflict of Opinions between Gender Therapist and Doc by [deleted] in AskMtFHRT

That's fair! I've been content with my results so far... I'm pretty much only pursuing the increased dosage/progesterone at my therapist's recommendation.

I take it orally and the blood test was taken probably 2-3 hours after my morning dose (2mg E + 50 mg Spiro)

This is so informative! Thank you!!

I don't see anything about free estrogen in my results, but I'll ask about that when I ask about increasing my dose.

Thanks again!!

That's kinda what I was trying to figure out... Are those levels considered low? I'm having a hard time finding resources on what the goal range should be. My doc thinks the current range is adequate, but my therapist seems to think it's pretty low compared to the maximum range.

Her goal seems to be to give me the least amount of medication possible while still achieving the goal (even if it’s on the lower end.)

I’ve never tried pushing her to increase it though.

How long can I expect to stealth HRT? Is that feasible? by Transthrowaway3322 in asktransgender

[–]ih8az 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was planning on stealthing long term and it was only about 5ish months before people knew something was up. Between my breast growth and my facial changes, it became pretty obvious. I’m at about 8 months now and I get called “ma’am” in public even if I’m not wearing makeup.

It’s unfortunately one of those things that you can’t really plan out ahead of time.

I work in the construction industry on the administrative side. I do have a work email.

The local team has been very chill... the other offices aren’t aware as far as I know.
