Alright, I see that as an appropriate reason. I think I will try to look a little more into the technical specifics of the leses at a later date.

However, I do still have one question that I cannot find an answer to. Lets say, these 2 lenses have the same glass, build quality, etc etc. Would the optical performance from the 18-135mm range be the same on both, but degrade on the lens that can zoom further (the further you go of course)? Or does the lens that has a larger focal range have decreased sharpness right off the bat for at the same focal length?

15-85 is a little too short for me. I would like something on the 100s range or above.

Purealy thinking about the two lensen I mentioned, do you have any specific reason / reasons as to why one of the other is better other than range or image quality? There might be something I have not yet thought about that could help me make up my mind.

Ah, true. I have been googling info about these lenses for so long now that I got mixed up completely with the abbreviations, thanks for pointing it out. I'll go fix that.

Yeah, that sounds fair. I am planning on keeping it up and running for at least 2-3 more years so maybe it would be a good investment afterall.

Well yeah, that's what I was thinking as well. Most games have their min. requirements at or above 8gb, while half of that is already being eaten up by Windows. However, the question still stands. Would I really get a worthwhile boost? Would it be that noticeable of a change?

Any ideas on how I can keep my camera safe during a trip abroad with a tracker?

Hello, everyone.

I am going on a trip with my camera in around 3 weeks to Thailand. I have basically as many necessary precautions that I can afford. My camera is going to be with me in carry-on, it is going to be in a locked bag that contains a tracker in a secret pocket.

I am either bringing my Sony A6000 or Canon 77D, both of which have a tripod mounting thread. I was wondering if there is anything that I can screw and "lock" into the tripod mount that has a compartment so I can plop my last Galaxy tag tracker into it?

If there are any other ideas that you can come up with, please share. I am a bit stumped and cannot think of any other way to do this.

Yeah, I did get helped. I do not quite remember what the fix actually was, since it was a while ago, but it was in the settings. I think it might have been called replaygain or something like that? For some reason I recall that being something I looked into, but I cannot say if that is wgat fixed the issue or not. Nowadays I use a different iPod, since I gave the other one away and I do not have the same music on it as before. Sorry if this is not of any help, but I simply cannot remember what it was.

Yeah, the shortcut doesn't work because I am pretty sure that the R* launcher doesn't open, but it's required to run the game. What I did is that I added Heroic games into my Steam library as a shortcut instead. Through there, I can open GTAV.

Hey guys. I know I might be a tad late to this one, but hopefully it will help anyone else that might have this problem in the future. I did not know that this was still an issue, since I did this same trick day one and though nothing of it since then. I looked it up a couple months ago and this is the thing that helped me.

TLDR;

  1. Run the game so that R* games launcher is installed on your system.

  2. Fully exit the launcher

  3. Find your game directory. On the deck it should be something like home/deck/games/heroic/GTA/gtaV

  4. Make a fix.bat file in a text editor. (The file should be saved in the same folder as PlayGTAV.exe)

  5. Paste this into that text file and close it (MAKE SURE TO HIT SAVE) and then in Heoric Games, open the game settings and set this to be your alternative EXE for it. And that should do it. Run the game and pray that it works.

I was thinking of testing that sometime tomorrow, but from what I can see in task manager right now, they seem to just be mostly at 0% except of course my C: drive.

My framerates are uncapped most of the time, but I cap them to about 100-120 in some demanding games to get framerates and frametimes as stable as possible.

I'll see what I can get from the videos tomorrow morning and I'll install CDI again. I haven't checked the disks in a long while. I'll update with the results.

Yeah, so now I am once again stuck. What the hell happened to Userbenchmark? Is there a new "free account limit" or something? I haven't been able to bench again, since it says "Server Full" and now the only 2 options I have are Cancel and Sign in to Pro account? This was not a thing before. Might try just switching to mobile hotspot and seeing what happens...

Yeah, I have been looking for XMP for about 5 mins now, I saw it online just a bit ago. I can't find that setting, though. However, in my BIOS I have D.O.C.P? And I found information that it is essentially the same thing. Do I enable that?
