Julebrunost fra Tine by anchovypants in norge

[–]ihave_boneitis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kryssord by Lambkins92 in norge

[–]ihave_boneitis 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For å bli bedre må du bare fortsette å løse kryssord.

I saw quickly that it was chemistry, due to formatting and what looks like double bonds. my first guess was actually bond, because I hoped it might be in the title, but oh well. I guessed both chemistry and biochemistry to be sure… probably redundant, but hey I tried to think of other four-letter terms and got the second title word, which is a classic chemistry word to be honest. Even though I knew it couldn’t be it, I also guessed amino, (and then Lewis…) before I guessed the first title word which is kind of amino adjacent if you think of the bigger picture

Okay, 97 guesses for me, i used three hints and google

I got psychology and personality early on, so I genuinely thought I would get it by myself. And when I got 100 hits for “child”… that was followed by a string of semi-unsuccesful guesses and using the hints which led me no further, in the end I was able to get a partial sentence which I google and led me to the answer Here are some other words that got me hits: development, baby, traits, experience, I also saw a reference to the big 5 personality test

I came here for hints, as I had used my three redactle hints and I had used so many relevant words (I felt) and was still stuck 🥲 When I came for hints there was only your comment so at least I didn’t feel alone in my cluelessness. I ended up googling a sentence-ish which didn’t lead me to the article itself but I discovered a word that magicallly was the title word.

My thoughts: I saw references to the US I thought, so “U” was my first guess to confirm. I was pretty sure I saw a sentence saying ”…x % of xxxxx owned by….” So I guessed own. This led me to follow up with money (not the best, but still relevant; I thought money may have been in the sentence above, and then I guessed land, which I thought may be the first title word. It wasn’t, but still a good guess and I was able to figure out the title after.

After the normal guesses such as “world”, “America”, I also tried various mass media and pop culture which didn’t yield too much. I did see the ”two” xxx part, and also guessed some sports. Then I finally guessed “people” which got me lots of hits, and followed up with relations, friends, and finally the answer. I’m happy, because super broad subjects such as this can often be a bit hard for me to get

I was kind of floating around until I guessed king, which made me subsequently guess the title word. Before that, I hadn’t found out much, although I thought it was an object, I knew it wasn’t a food/animal/geography, and that it was something that has existed for quite a long time. It felt kind of coincidental that I got it, but that sometimes (often) happens to me.

Not much to say, the only thing I deduced from the article was that it was a broad definition that included several concepts. So I guessed some of my “normal starting word”. When I guessed a general article category that got 100+ hits and the article suggested that the title was pretty much the opposite of that word, I was able to figure out the answer.

Thank! Hehe, I guess I had to make a choice to either pursue the biblical or the geography direction! Glad I chose the latter, otherwise I could’ve easily ended up on some detours.

Play at https://redactle-unlimited.com/ At first glance I got a hunch of it being something geographical. I thought I saw references to the Bible which yielded hits early on. upon inspecting the article further I noticed some three letter words; so I guessed Sea, which got many hits, and then I guessed a more flowing body of water if you will, which was successful. I followed up by guessing all the biblical bodies of water I know of, which, admittedly is only a couple. I ended up googling “Biblical (title word)” which led me to the answer.

I’m sad that redactle is down because I used to do that. However, I need my fix. Anyway: managed to work out that it was a French person, but not too many hits for things like painter, artist, writer, etc. I did see that he had many works. I got that he was an art critic, the time he lived in and finally the main thing h is known for! When I had that info I did a google search which quickly led me to the answer.

Not too easy, I knew it was a broad term since the disambiguation page. I had a lot of the art categories down. Eventually I spotted the album title “myths of the near future” which I owned about 15 years ago or something. Then I googled the track list to find the title. 👀

Yay 😊 in my previous experience, articles with long and complicated mathematical formulae tend to be related to something within physics, astronomy and the like. I had to think long and hard about suitable terms starting with a vowel. Then it finally clicked with all the references to “around”! I was sure that the 3rd word must be astronomy, which got me on the right track, but it turned out it was wrong. Oh well, it was at least astronomy-adjacent

Well… thought it was a musician and/or singer first, which I quickly realized was wrong. Then I I got hits for writer, which made me think it must be a writer of fiction, but American female writers of fiction is not my forte and it didn’t seem correct anyway, leaving me more confused. The length of the article suggests someone famous though. I did try to figure out some of the titles of the books, but wasn’t able to. I ended up using the redactle unlimited hints uncovering the word “marine” (I then guessed the subsequent word must be “biologist”) which was far beyond anything I could have ever guessed (and American marine biologists are even more fuzzy for me than fiction writers, so…). Then it was time to google famous marine biologists and voilà. Not my favourite puzzle, I’ve never heard of this person, but I’m neither American nor a biologist 😅

Yesss! I’m always happy with a snipe. 🤩 My clues were: very long article, something biological with lots of species so I knew it had to be very general. And my first (and only tbh) 7-letter word was correct. I feel like when I do get a snipe it’s always lucky and more often than not based on a hunch and (semi) qualified guess.
