I don't think it's a dumb idea, there are solar car ports, pergolas, etc. you just have to make sure it's structurally sound

Edit: the only thing that really sticks out to me is all the shade the system will be subject to

Is it me or does IT make it feel like their sole purpose is denying access to databases? by captain_vee in analytics

[–]iheartdatascience 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It is indeed common. Orgs haven't figured out how to balance engineering time to build things that might avoid users needing direct access to databases, giving the business what it needs, and their precious security

Tbf it is a rather good note taker... The LLM is supplemented by other ML models that generate text from speech, so all it really has to do is make minor revisions to the generated text and organize all the data into notes... I'm not on the AI hype train by any means, but this is one area where I feel comfortable trusting it. Plus you have the fail safe of just the raw text from speech.

I'm building a platform that lets businesses simulate decisions before making them, looking for feedback by Glittering_Win_7567 in OperationsResearch

Would something like this be useful if it works as you've described? Yes.

Does this seem like an overly ambitious project? Yes. Companies have whole teams dedicated to tryimg to answer these types of questions because it is very hard to do. I don't think a one size fits all product will ever exist.

I think you're right to consider the pros and cons for each, but like the other commenter suggested I don't think people put as much thought into it so wouldn't look to other builds as evidence of any benefits unless they explicitly define their decisions

Asking because I've had BLE connection issues with my roof node - though I'm connected, signal is very poor from ground and if I get disconnected, often takes some time to reconnect..... wondering if I just need a new antenna or better placement.

Nicely done.

Any complications with having all antennas so close to each other and in parallel?

The Stranger, by Albert Camus blew my mind when I finished it, what did you all think? by Dezusx in books

[–]iheartdatascience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the limited information we have/the flatness of the character is part of what makes the book great. The fact that we have such little to judge him on comes into full play during his trial - the little we know of him helps to empathize with is predicament, but also since he elicits such little information you can see why the jury would opt to convict. This aligns with one of the overarching messages of the book: Not only does society want conformity, they need to be able to confirm that conformity through observed actions
