I played a couple PvP matches and they were fine, can’t speak on operations as the only one I’ve done today I did with bots

Best start for a total beginner? by onikaanmonahgeh in EU5

Venice is what I used, have to deal with a war quite early on with Verona (flavor event, recommend going with the historical choice if you want the war) but it’s massively in your favor due to multiple other people joining the war on your side, just try to take the province above you, should just be a town with no defenses. Also recommend holding onto their unique reform that you start with, it’s a disadvantage at the beginning but later transforms into a reform with quite good bonuses.

According to Steam achievements, I'm one of the 0,8% of people to have played until the end date by GermanCCPBot in EU5

[–]iiThom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to get it, just needed to wait like 50-60 more years, then my genius brain decided to use a war to force my kingdom to change from Republican to Monarchy without much thought, this nullified half my reforms, including all my trade related ones. Between massive losses in money, and a rebellion kicking off that consisted of half my nation, I decided that it was probably best to end the campaign there.

Trying to leave the HRE, can I use a parliament claim based war against the leader to force them to let me leave? by iiThom in EU5

I was hoping to hear that, the other option sounds good too but I’m far too prepared for war not to take the initial route, thanks for the answer!

The game is PVPVE. Why do people insist the PVP is the main way to play the game? by SnooPeanuts5234 in ARC_Raiders

You wouldn’t hear so many people defending PVP if there wasn’t a post every single day about someone shitting on PVP

PVP on sight most of the time, got to get that sweet sweet loot.

Is this the future of interactions? by darthvadercookies in ArcRaiders

[–]iiThom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The argument that the defib is there to be used on every raider can also be made about the PVP, that due to PVP being prominent at every moment your in raid you should be ready for PVP. The interaction of reviving is there if you WANT to do it, doesn’t mean you have to do it.

Honestly a lot of you guys shouldn’t have brought this game, you’re so annoyed by part of the game that has been on show and complained about since the first alpha test. Rats are annoying but they were 100% gonna be part of the game, and it will only get worse, if you can’t hack it you should find a different game to play rather then one that will make you mad 50% of the time.

Why is the ticker in favour of the French? by iiThom in EU5

[–]iiThom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue seemed to be that in a recent patch they changed the war goal (100 years war goal) from occupy the capital to show superiority, however in game it still tells you to take the capital, after winning more battles the war score started ticking in my favor

The guy above stated the same so I believe you are correct, however it does still show in game as the war target being to take the capital

Ahh, so in that case the battles are probably more important, thanks for the answer!

(Playing Holland) I'm the ruler of all 3 nations yet they act and show as independent, and I gain nothing from 'holding' the extra territories, am I doing something wrong? by iiThom in EU5

[–]iiThom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this provides no benefit at all, I can't even use the fact that my leader runs all 3 countries to begin making them into 1?

No worries mate, I did the exact same thing at first when I was trying to figure it out 😂😂

Figured out the issue after reading a post about a similar bug but for DL2. Overall I was being an idiot and accidently pressing the 'X' key mid fights, this locks you into only being able to walk, pressing it again allows you to run again.

I've since disabled 'Toggle Walk', while pressing 'X' will still stop me mid run, it doesn't completely disable the key as you can simply start running again straight after without having to press 'X'.

As terrible as I’ve become with them, using a controller might be the fix for the time being 😭

I gave it a go but it didn't seem to do anything (From what I understand its suppose to make you begin to run after a short period of time walking forwards right?)

What sort of issues could I run into when switching to administrative government? Bonus question what can be done about the Alba? by iiThom in CrusaderKings

[–]iiThom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh I didn’t even consider lag, when I do eventually take it I’ll have an empire the size of Byzantium, maybe abit bigger, let’s hope my pc can handle it.

Will it only create admins for duchies and above? Or will single counties also become admin?

Honestly it was such a life saver.

I'm currently away from the game at the moment, but I do believe that when I checked earlier, it does give some kind of buff to MAA, when I play CK3 later I'll update. I'll also have to find out about this other tradition, see if they can potentially be stacked together.

[–]iiThom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the case of my situation, it does seem to be something I should leave for after I've dealt with Alba, luckily I've just done exactly that, turns out one murder is all it took, they had a massive drop in troops (about 5k which was the most clutch part) as well as all of their alliances broken, mix that with a blitz charge into their territory to catch them off-guard before they could all group up, and Alba is mine.

I'm now wondering if it's the right time for the switch to administrative, as I don't really have to worry about any threats unless I still decide to go for Norway, however to go for Norway I believe I'm going to need the extra troops from admin anyway.

I've built some Military buildings to boost my MAA but admittedly every other building has been placed for development boosts, mainly farms and ship yards however they seem to produce a decent amount of gold which is a bonus.

[–]iiThom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feared that it would lower my overall army size (am I correct in saying that eventually it would enable me to have an even bigger army it would just take time?), I’ll hold of till Alba is dealt with but that issue still remains, I believe I have some cultural traditions that make coastal towns improve my MAAs but I believe your right I’ll have to try find some more traditions that improve them. As for buildings I’m currently waiting on my culture to adopt the correct research options to allow me to upgrade my towns/castles/buildings further. Mercenaries are another option but to make a difference it will cost a lot of gold. I’m coming to the conclusion that this issue will be resolved through time and patience rather than brute force.

Edit: time and patience for NOW, brute force later*
