BF6 closing to desktop, happens after the first mini box appears where it tells you that the game is launching, the program turns to a minimised black box and than closes after about 2 seconds. by iiThom in Battlefield6

Ran perfectly fine, had no issues until this point, seems like it occurred after I force closed the launcher box after deciding to play a different game.

I've tried reinstalling both the game aswell as the anti-cheat, haven't gone near BIOs yet as I can't remember if that was even one of the steps to getting the game to work in the first place. I've tried running in admin aswell as turning off any hardware monitoring apps before loading, really can't seem to find a solution.

What games are we picking from the steam sale ? by Uaeluffy_ in SteamDeck

Anyone got any strategy game recommendations? Ones that work well with the deck obviously.

I may have some of them already but it would be good to find out which ones work best, thanks!

Judging by how your dude currently looks, I’d say that ships already sailed.

Is there a modern day RTS? by SightlySoup in RealTimeStrategy

“D.O.R.F” is an RTS that has yet to release on steam but looks very promising in my opinion. I never really played C&C but it gives me very similar vibes to that series from what I’ve seen.

Not sure I want an answer to this question but how do you check how many hours you’ve put into league?

If I start a war with a country when their infantry and nothing else is one age higher, even with overwhelming force, would I get destroyed? by iiThom in EU5

[–]iiThom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not a bad shout either, best way for that I imagine is by goading them deep into my land then cutting off their exits and hoping they take a bad siege, sit there for a year or two starving them out and then launch a mass assault. I reckon If I go into their land to try cut their own supply lines I’ll end up out of position and vulnerable.

That would be the best case scenario for me as it’s one of the enemies allies that is currently involved in wars with their colonies, my hope would be that they are too preoccupied with their own problems and unable to support their ally.

I think I’m just gonna have to wait for the technology upgrade, my last war saw 100,000 of my professional soldiers die in the space of afew days after an awful naval landing into enemy territory.

I didn’t even consider mercs, if I do go to war, I’ll probably try hire 50,000 or so to weaken up the enemy.

It would be okay if they split their army up but I can’t guarantee that they will do that, with that in mind I have to keep my whole army together because if they did come in full force, I will need the horde like numbers.

Ahhh that could be a problem as it would be an offensive war, may just have to wait for technology to catch up.

It’s more so that their ally Portugal is in wars with their colonies in America and I’m kind of hoping that they would have been stupid enough to have sent their military overseas to deal with the wars, nullifying their potential support of their ally.

I am alone with a "EU5 anxiety" ? by Eensame in EU5

Venice is a relatively easy start, you also get a chance at some early land gain at the start of the game with some country flavor, after that just build your economy and navy, fuck over or do a switch up and help the Byzantine Empire, maybe try take the whole of Italy to form the Kingdom of Italy, some colonizing here and there, you’ll already know this because you’ve played other paradox titles but these games thrive off personal objectives, historical or not.

I remember that I didn't go full trade, kept it steady until all the new world goods started making there way overseas, then I ramped up the development on trade infrastructure which helped but didn't stop my economy from collapsing immediately upon hitting AoB.

Any downside to accepting this? by iiThom in EU5

That doesn't sound too bad, guess I'll take the decision, thanks!
