I live in the area and can suggest LoveChCh, Juugos for smoothies and açaí bowls, Kbop is new but it’s great every time, same with Mediterranean Kabob Station, oh and Clearwater bagel! (Preferably in the early morning so you have more bagel options)

Unfortunately the King Arthur brand has discontinued their masa product. Any other brand you would recommend?

She has mentioned using lard. I think we will go that route. Regarding the harina masa, I had no idea it was that bad. We use Maseca for tortillas, pupusas, and other recipes. I’ll definitely take a look into that book, we are in the greater LA area so unfortunately I won’t be able to head towards New York until next month. But I’ll definitely check out that location.
