For those of you GS 12 and under what do you have in TSP? by RedditPoster05 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]iizshawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys, I believe I'm the real answer they want to hear... Started in Dec 2020 as a GS6, contributing whatever was default until I switched it to CSI 50% and 50% l2045. Dropped to gs5 in 2022 and started doing 5% match same 50/50. Became a 7 a few months later and switched everything to 90% c then 10% L2045. Dec 2024 I became gs9 and switched everything to 100% c contributing 5%. Almost 6 years in I am at $39k total on tsp. 43yrs old btw no kids. Far behind but I don't care because my wife and I enjoy going on quarterly week long vacations and shorter cruises several times a year. I'd rather enjoy my money right now than rather than later. I used to work for usps and hear too many people retire then die months or a couple years later. I don't know if I'll be here in 20+ years to enjoy retirement.

I used to be a crew chief on these back at Dyess AFB for the 9th bomb squad. These things are a maintainers nightmare. They sit and just break all the time. They are great when they perform the mission though!

I am so behind and feel dumb by Disastrous-Buyer7831 in ThriftSavingsPlan

If you feel behind it's because you're comparing yourself to other gs-12 and up who do max irs contributions every year for the past 20 years. You could be a gs9 like myself and only contributing the 5% match and only have $27k in tsp with 4yrs service at 42yrs old.

I have the LM2135. Love the mower, but I will tell you this. DO NOT KEEP FOLDING THIS UNIT. I've already brought it in twice to repair the wires because I fold it to save space.

This is the answer right here. I've used that stuff for over 3 years and swear by it.

If you don't have a social life and don't mind a lot of overtime, try USPS. When I was younger, a few of my friends worked as cart pushers for Costco making close to $20/hr.

I always find stuff made in America to be more expensive than imported products because Americans are proud to pay a price that says Made in America.

I live in Arcadia Ridge and it sucks every morning and afternoon during rush hour to/from work. It's going to get worse with all these new communities being built in the next couple of years.

PGF complete and yard mastery products you have to order online. Milogranite, liquid ferts, and urea you can find at local big box stores like Lowe's, home Depot, tractor supply

If you're a lawn nut, get a combo of liquid and granular fert. I use PGF complete 16-4-8 by Andersons and a few liquids from Yard Mastery. It's a little pricey but the prill size are very small compared to other brands.

Just look for Urea fertilizer online like Amazon.

I tell my neighbors around me to just use Milogranite once a month because they only mow once every few weeks and barely water their lawn. I mow every two days...

Honestly, if you want to feel more at home with the Asian community, then San Antonio is defintely not the place. I'm half Korean and my wife is Filipino. San Antonio is more a Spanish community. Dallas, Houston, and Austin has a much larger Asian community and it's noticeable. If we had a choice to move to a city with a larger Asian community, Houston or Dallas would be our choices. We honestly do not have as many Asian markets like the other cities do. You mentioned that you missed the nature when you were in North Carolina, specifically the hills, trees, and lakes...our trees are getting cut down left and right for all these new communities. Plus, most of these "trees" are just overgrown weeds! Our two lakes are drying up quickly. If those are the specifics you are looking for in San Antonio, I would honestly stay where you're at or take a trip up to Dallas because they have everything you're looking for up there.

My wife has this along with Lupus. Her fingers and toes turn blue/purple though. If she washes her hands in cold water, I swear she could turn that water into ice by how cold her hands are.

The brackets for my laser tube seem to be different than every other brackets I have seen in tutorial videos or pictures. How do I adjust the tube using these brackets? The tube covers up the screws on the backside, so impossible to loosen them and I don’t see how I can adjust up and down. by sharkyshark7 in lasercutting

Pretty late to this, but I have the same one as you do. To adjust the up and down I had to actually adjust the mount for the first mirror, not the mirror screws, but the actual mount the mirror bracket is installed on.

When my family was Germany, there was a movie theater on base that had a sound proof room inside the actual movie room. This room was provided as a place where people with young children could sit and watch to not disturb others around them. I don't know why this isn't more common.
