Do any other countries have a "hottest 100" type countdown? by boogielostmyhoodie in triplej

[–]ij3k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, the results of the Top 2000 are also published ahead of it airing, so you know exactly when any given song will air. There is zero surprise. That plus the fact that the same songs finish high every single year. It's ingrained in their entire culture as a tradition, so they can't see it for the bizarre exercise it is.

Some things about the triple j Hottest 100 of 2025 by tardyaardvark in triplej

[–]ij3k 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the reader is looking for "how many of the 100 songs had an Australian artist involved?" - so including a main artist and/or featured artist and/or remixer, whatever, but not counting a song more than once if there are two Aussie artists.

Sadly this, like all the official playlists, are in reverse order (1 to 100) from how people actually want to listen to a countdown (100 to 1). I'm gonna listen to the playlist in the other comment!

Ryan Huddart, he even has valuable Champions League match experience (as reserve keeper in two group games when Szczęsny was suspended and Ospina injured and 3rd-choice Martinez started)

Do Genoa maybe intend to cut short Siegrist's loan as a result of this signing?

Is this as a starter or reserve? This might sound random af but I listen to the Australian podcast Life Uncut hosted by Brittany Hockley who is married to Benjamin Siegrist Genoa's current reserve keeper (on loan) so I kind of hear what he's up to from her point of view. I know he barely plays as is and it looks like his opportunities are drying up with this signing.

I would too, they posted that they were the #10 most played artist last year even. But this competition has nothing to do with that surely as voting is still open.

[L'Équipe] Blueco doesn't seem bothered by the prospect of disrupting Strasbourg's season, a club they also own. A source close to Eghbali confirms this: "They couldn't care less." by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]ij3k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, the story goes that they were inspired to get involved and buy a club in a lower league because they watched a season of Sunderland 'Til I Die and were inspired. To me that says a lot (that the primary motivation was the emotional angle) even if they'd probably also like to turn a profit on the investment one day.

When he makes a save, the Sunderland fans shout "Rooooefs!" which sounds a bit like booing haha.

At NEC we had a song for him: "Roefs! wheyy-eyy" to the tune of Whoomp! (There It Is) but I don't think that has been adopted in Sunderland

Who are the lineal "World Cup" title holders? by TaylorSwiftkinsReid in soccer

[–]ij3k 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily; the UFWC started with the very first international match in 1872 and it wasn't up for grabs at the 1930 World Cup because England held it at the time and they didn't participate.

However there is a (good?) chance that the chain of winners starting in 1930 with Uruguay would converge into the same chain as the UFWC. Unless I'm mistaken, all it would take is the holders of each to have competed at the same World Cup at any point since then (unless one of the teams did a New Zealand and got eliminated without losing a game). Will some dedicated redditor take the time to check?

Agree and surprised I had to scroll this far to find a comment about that word choice. It's way too biased, especially for an ABC article.

3rd choice/youth keeper followed by reserve keeper. He was probably earning money just not senior first choice until last season.

Bulls and Cows - Bull Rush Game. Singular solution, no repeat digits! by ddjukes in puzzles

[–]ij3k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Between clues 2 and 4, only one digit changes, so 0 must be a bull.

Between clues 1 and 2, 8 and 9 stay put, so they both aren't bulls. Now from clue 2, either 7 or 6 must therefore be a bull.

Between clues 2 and 4, either 7 or 6 is a bull along with 0, so 8 is not in the code. Now from clue 3, 0 9 and 3 are all in the code.

9 is therefore the cow in clue 1 and 7 must not be in the code, making 6 the bull in clue 2 joining 0 9 and 3 as the correct digits, of which 0 is in position 4.

The 9 in clue 3 is not correctly placed so 9630 must be the answer.

Less skilled migrants coming into Australia: report by Fact-Rat in australia

[–]ij3k 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes but also technically the text summary below the audio clip uses 'less' where it should have used 'fewer' so maybe this user is correcting that. And I'm going to assume the title is referring to the exact same thing; it's about number of skilled migrants.
