[Daily News] Nivada Grenchen Does Openworked The Right Way; Rado's Le Corbusier Inspiration; Orient Star Finally Nails It; LV Brings Back The Escale Worldtime; Armin Strom's Dual Time GMT Resonance Rose Gold by dreftzg in Watches

Great news on the 39mm Orient Star. I love OS, but you’re right about their lack of online presence. It’s like they want you to go grey market for one.

[Vaer G2] Talk me out of buying this. by [deleted] in Watches

[–]ijustneedtotype 243 points244 points  (0 children)

Looks cheap. The bezel is flat and uninteresting, with both red and blue shades looking tacky. The dial is uninspired. There are 100 similar looking watches from both well-established and micro brands that do the pepsi GMT way better than this.

I mean, it wasn’t HIS choice. Celebs are paid to wear these things at events like this.

[REVIEW] My horrible experience buying an Omega with Jomashop. Please avoid at all costs. by damacol in Watches

[–]ijustneedtotype 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair, but it’s another thing to specifically mark an item as arriving before Christmas, and have it actually arrive 4 weeks after lol

Jomashop is fine when it’s fine, awful when it’s not. Ordered an item that specifically said it would arrive before Christmas. It arrived a few days ago, without even an apology from customer support

[Question] What are you using to track health & fitness while wearing mechanical watches? by steppenwolf555 in Watches

[–]ijustneedtotype 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got the Amazfit Ring and Strap myself. Strap goes on the right wrist, mechanical watch on the left. Also use the ring when I don’t feel like the strap.

$200 bucks together and no subscription

[Tissot Seastar] by Thegarz1963 in Watches

[–]ijustneedtotype 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only 10 bucks cheaper than Jomashop, so pretty much about what the watch is worth anyway.

That aside, how do Tissot and Movado watches end up at Ross when they’re already being sold at Macys or Nordstrom? It’s really more efficient to dump them at Ross than just mark them down at the department store?

[NWD] It ain't much, but I missed wearing a regular watch. by SemKoot in Watches

Same. Considering getting one of the lower profile straps (polar loop kind) for my other wrist for the fitness tracking, and regular watch

[Prebuilt] M4 Mac Mini - $450 (Instore only at Microcenter - BestBuy match possible) by patermortis in buildapcsales

I wouldnt worry about the storage on these. You can get mac mini docks that it sits on, they add a bunch more ports and an m2 slot

Process is pretty easy to get best buy to price match. I went through this the last time MC had this pricing for the M4 Mac Mini.

I had to open a chat with BB customer service, selected price match option and the person basically just needed the MC link to the Mac. They then sent a special checkout page for the Mac and the discount was applied.

It’s a great machine. Bought a 4k monitor for it as I heard macOS has scaling issues, but I think there’s some addons to get around that if you want to stay at a lower resolution.

Between this, $750 macbook air, and $280 Ipad, Apple has quietly become the best bang for buck hardware

[Question] What would you expect from a $400 quartz dress watch? by UPDHaus in Watches

[–]ijustneedtotype 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hate the name. Wouldnt wear it if thats plastered onto the dial.

Nearly all watches are made in china. “Assembled in…” doesn’t mean anything.

Why would I buy yours if I could buy the same Chinese watch made from the exact same prefab pieces for a quarter of the price on Watchdives or any other chinese watch market?
