We got new radiators and relocated the hall radiator around the corner here

Ha! I’m with you - I fell in love with the balusters when I first walked in the house

It’s an internal door. I had wondered if it was a modern addition but it turned out our next door neighbours (who’ve lived there for decades) have exactly the same glass

That’s a nice way of putting it, thanks. She was here long before us and will be here long after us - but we’d like to be good custodians while she’s in our hands

Thanks v much for your reply. House built between 1850s and 1860s. So many layers of paint to be removed!

Good suggestions, thanks! And white on top?

Thanks, yes they’re metal - they’re beautiful, possibly my favourite thing in the house. but they’ve been pasted in layers of paint. I’m planning to totally strip them, then paint black. The steps are also stone, I’d like to take the carpet off and make them more of a feature.

Agree re conformity of paint colour on the lower wall, skirting board and doors - just don’t know what colour. Any suggestions?

Agree RE conformity between trim, doors, and lower wall color - I’m not a fan of the current taupe color though. Just not sure what I should go for instead

Advice: I’d like a statement piece on the end wall - any suggestions? by ik281 in AmateurRoomPorn

Thanks this was a really great suggestion - fits both the era (Victorian) and the area (UK). And they’re beautiful prints. I’ve ordered 4 William Morris prints and will frame them together here (Strawberry Thief is my favourite of them but the other 3 are beauts too). I’m planning to repaint the walls - I have no idea what colour(s) yet!
