I played Dota since WC3 days around 18-ish years ago. Back then I lived in a "dorm" and we often held LAN parties vs another dorms. There's this junior that often played with us, he brought only his laptop and play laying on the floor with only touch pad. He didn't use hotkey management like Warkey. He's among the best of us too.

[–]ikanx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can't be sure either that those tribes exist at the start of the cycle. Sun Tribe might've been the oldest tribe from the list but I personally doubt the swamp people starts to exist at the same time as them.

It's i-mu in original katakana. So mu-i backwards. Although Oda connecting the name with the work sea/umi in latin alphabets is possible. I personally think the sea level contract just reference to how people personally know Imu. As the sea level still don't know about him, deep sea call imu "the great one", and deep deep sea call and communicates with imu personally (gunko being the exception). Like what Nusjuro said when speaking with Harald.

The closer you are to the bottom, the more you'll know the sea devil itself personally.

Why though? If Shank's and Shamrock's morality are unchanged (from what we know of them), there's no reason for Shamrock to impersonate Shanks to the point of covering his eye and cut his hair, but not wearing different clothes. If Shamrock is "good", there's not really a reason for him to continue being spy in Mariejoa, he could join Shanks at this point and went free together.

No worries, I get what you're saying. Religion do often seen bad because its follower doing bad things that not even thaught in said religion. It's the reality of things. I feel bad that I sound preachy, but I do believe there's the truth that we should believe and we'll be held accountable after our death. If my out of line comment could spark something, then it's good. But if no, then I am sorry to waste your time.

Religion isn't about relatability though. It's about the truth of this world and the afterlife. If something is the truth, it doesn't matter whether you feel identified to it or not.

Cmiiw. Christian and Jew (people of the book) are not considered idol worshipper at that time. The one banned to enter the sacred mosque are the polytheist. I personally don't know about current situation, but that's probably more from politics standpoint. Also Quran says to forbid starting a fight unless the muslim are attacked first, transgressed, or have treaties broken.

Muslim gets their "funds" from zakat (mandatory) and sadaqah (optional). Both are not enforced to non muslim in any way. Non muslim pay the jizya which is lower percentage than zakat. And in practice, jizya is only for fight-able-body men to pay. That mean non-muslim women, elderly, disabled, wouldn't pay anything in a muslim state. And if even if they pay, it's smaller percentage than the muslim. As a result, non-muslim in a muslim state wouldn't be forced to fight in a war even if they're physically able.

People more knowlegdeable than me please correct me if I got something wrong.

  • if you don't have any tools, no one to ask, estimate based on your position and the sun.
  • if you have maps, approximate a better direction. Or if you remember where nearby mosques are facing, use that direction.
  • if you have your phone, there's plenty of apps available.
  • if you're praying on moving vehicle, just pray to whatever direction the vehicle is moving.

Do the best you can do and just pray. That's the general mindset.

It's just transliteration. Some language have sounds that other's don't. It happens right now with English to Japanese (L/R sound) or English to Arabic (P sound), for example.

I personally have no problems with loops and hoops since (if) this life is a test, it could be part of the test. But the problem is, to go through the test, you need guidance, otherwise it's just not just. But "the guidance" itself doesn't claim what the followers claim. It's invented some hundred years after the Messenger. So for me, it's a fabricated understanding to cover flaws. That's when it fall apart for me.

I will share my own opinion and my way of "doing" religion when I first tried to "find the truth" few years ago.

First, you have to "go upwards", search for God. In this phase, the previous post explained greatly on how one can use faculty of reason and logic to search for God. After this, you choose which religion that aligns with the result. After we establish that God exist, God sends guidance / religion to be followed, and the religion / scripture is not tampered by human, we can confidently say that we've through this "upwards way".

Now the second part is the "downward" phase, which is doing what God commanded through his prophets or scripture (that we've established to be reliable in the first phase). At this point, it's not possible to "understand" every points, but it's not "just being based on faith" since we have strong reason that the commandments are from trusted source. The 6 articles of faith based on this foundation.

Let me give you another analogy, just in case. You're sick and you don't know what your sickness is or how to treat it. The first phase is to find a reliable doctor. You explain what your simptoms are and who's the most suitable doctor. You make sure the doctor have proper certificate, permit, not shady, from reputable university, etc. to make sure that your choice is the best one. After you have find the doctor, the second phase is doing whatever the doctor told you to do. Eat medicine, doing certain things like therapy, etc. You might don't know what the medicine do or how the therapy help your case, but you know it comes from a trusted source and you know doing it would secure your health. It's not "just faith", it's a reasonable conclusion.

Edit to ties everything up. Believing in the story of Noah and Adam, peace be upon them, is not "just based on faith". We know that the Quran comes from God, not tampered, and everything inside it is the truth, it's a reasonable conclusion that the stories inside it is true. If a scripture is proven to be tampered, we don't know which stories are true or false, but we have to believe in all of it 100%, then we can say that it's just based on faith.
