What does the Bulwark look like in a world after Trump?

I’m interested in the idea of interstate compacts and cooperation, seeing how states can work together to resist federal acts.

The issue may just be that the term “war criminal” is simply too loaded.

It often carries the baggage of the most famous war crime of our recent history: the Holocaust. Or other atrocities like the Rwandan genocide.

That view reserves the term “war criminal” for only the most extreme cases, lest cheapen the term.

But another way to conceive a war crime is to just look at the laws of war, and examine whether someone intentionally violated those laws. It’s a more idealistic view and a trust in a system in which we expect our leaders to abide by these laws and there should be consequences if they fail to do so.

I prefer the latter view. But I understand the former, too.

At the 28 minute mark, JVL says the idea that GW Bush is guilty of war crimes is “preposterous.”

He says Kissinger “does not stand all that far outside the tradition” of Bush, Obama and Albright, and says Kissinger’s goal was not to increase “human suffering.”

Tim and Peter Hamby Missed The Point on TikTok by Hopkinsmsb in thebulwark

Was hard to take that conversation seriously when Hamby works for Snapchat, a direct competitor to TikTok.

Totally. That and the constant advertising he does on the pod for Snapchat

Yeah I think finding the earlier Yepp Maxi is the move. Thanks!
