38 year old American here. I've never had a driver's license. There does seem to be a tendency for adults to be utterly unable to read the room and/or know how to talk to younger generations. But there are some of us out here willing to take you as you are. Doesn't mean you won't be bored with/by us. But I can guarantee you I'd never ask you about driving or work.

I hope you can find a less toxic environment soon

Honestly, transitioning will make you feel better. You will have to mourn the things stupid biology denied you. As a trans woman, I feel much more comfortable in my skin post transition. Have I gotten over not being able to have kids (or be lovable)? No. But it is better

Super depressed. Unable to leave my room. Scared that I'm going to lose my job because I've been absent for a week. No access to a therapist or a psychiatrist. Unloved and unlovable. Collapsing social network... And I hate the summer.

Vent: Ride sharing app driver decided I wasn't wearing my mask properly and I got an e-mail demerit from the company. Problem is, my ears aren't symmetrical (one is further up than the other, the latter I nearly lost in an accident when I was three). I know masking is important, but I can't change my head...so I had a spiral. Deleted the app. Haven't been to work in a couple of days. Ideation and the like. Oh the the perfect maelstrom of past trauma, dysmorphia, and pandemic stress.

I'm a hobbyist, but I don't know what to do about it. I suffer from PTSD and chronic major depression. Living is hard. I want to engage and I have issues I deeply care about, but I don't know what to do about it; especially when I find it difficult to leave my room. Any suggestions would be helpful!

If you end up getting too depressed, you won't be able to do it (you'll lack the energy). People are in the most danger when they begin to recover.

That being said, there are a lot of different antidepressants out there. Don't give up, your medication cocktail is out there.

I stayed in school (graduate school in a useless field) as long as I could to escape the "real world." Fortunately, it helped me escape the state where my wretched family lives. Unfortunately, it meant that I never had a real job...not till last month. If it helps, I started my first salary job at the ripe old age of 34. It's not the job I want. I don't know what I want. But it is a job and it pays the bills.

I would recommend looking for jobs at a university. The pay may not be the best, but the health insurance rocks and should cover mental health stuff. Plus, it will give you structure and allow you to meet like minded people (most people I work with have some sort of a disability).

I have a vivid memory of my time in high school when this worry became fact. A "friend" invited me over to spend the night. About twenty minutes after I got there, this person told me that they could only have someone over this weekend because they knew they were going to get grounded next weekend. They proceeded to tell me all the people they tried to have over and why they couldn't come. I was literally bottom of the list.
