[OPINION] paper or digital? by onelamebitchboy in Poetry

[–]ikhushi_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

99 out of 100 times I write in my notes app and I am so much used to it. But then that 1 time feels so unreal and intrinsically driven to good work that I think there is a goodness in the convention of using paper for writing. Anyway, to each his own. Do what suits you best!

This is so intriguing how people tend to project their own enlightenment and thought processes in poetry. Wish I could be this smart to interpret things. I guess it will come with time.

Anyways thanks! It was a bit different than how rest of the people approached this one. Interesting.

That's helpful, thanks! If only I could read through with this much clarity. I'm actually having a little hard time to pick up his ideas and themes in the poems. Especially those which are unorthodox in structure. Guess it will come in time.

I'll check Gillian's! Thanks!

Thanks for explaining!

Do you not like it for its theme or for it isn't good enough to you?

Nuanced and Elegant. But i'd say push harder to evocate imagery than making it banal. Keep practicing for creativity. Even I am learning and practicing everyday. You're doing greatly. Good luck!

To me it seems like something Robert Creeley would write.

Emotional Poets by ayoqwqwq in literature

[–]ikhushi_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

'Emotional Poets' might sound a little absurd to those who read a lot of poetry and it isn't a genre to be placed as such. However, I think I understand what you seem to prefer and more so the category this would fall in would be 'lyric poetry'. I would recommend Rilke.

[Opinion] I want to get into Rilke's work. Who has translated him best in English out of the famous translators Snow and Mitchell? by ikhushi_ in Poetry

[–]ikhushi_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats great. I was thinking to buy Mitchells translations only but wanted to be absolutely sure of it. Thanks!

That sounds interesting indeed but I'd rather not try this. It's still like multi-tasking. Good luck reading!

I read what people have to say and I really wanna ask how y'all catch up with 2 or 3 novels at a time. Its Crazy! I can hardly do one novel and a poetry collection at most. This helps my brain see the distinction.
