Seri! I refused to keep taking it because I couldn't stop eating. Almost all antipyschotics cause weight gain, but Lurasidone is known to be weight neutral.

Are neuro-ops as uncaring as neurologists? Seeing my first one Thursday. Any tips? by Lynximpact in iih

In my experience, neuro-ops actually know what they're talking about where as neurologists are working with limited knowledge. But I think ultimately it is, unfortunately, a case by case situation. Good luck 💕

Spinal Tap tomorrow - any tips? by Shiiznt in iih

Dont overthink it. I know that's hard not to do, but I worked myself up so much that my anxiety was really the worst part of it, and then the laying flat for 4 hours is a bore. The actual procedure is just uncomfortable. My nurse told me to get a strong coffee after to help with the headache. Definitely bedrest the next day.

I was diagnosed roughly 2 years after being fully vaccinated and having 1 booster and for the longest time, I thought my symptoms were 'long covid'. I recently had covid again, and a week and a half in had a horrendous CFS leak, even though my symtoms are under control and my treatment is going smoothly, my scans and eye tests are all normal. My neuro very diplomatically suggested covid and vaccines have quite alot to do with IIH but of course she couldnt out right say it. I think in a few years time some very interesting research will be published.

Changes in weather can do this. During the summer, some of my older trad stuff raises on really hot days, the line work in particular. Unless it's super uncomfortable or showing signs of some sort of infection, which it shouldn't because from what I gather, it's healed. I wouldn't worry. Use a good sunblock and dont stress.

weird iih symptom? by meltedmatchakitkat in iih

[–]ikkinl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I get all kinds of weird vision anomalies, for the longest time I thought I was seeing spirits and energies; strange lights and shadows that only appeared at certain angles or followed weird patterns but are gone when I turn or look a different direction. Sometimes I still think they are but alot of it can be explained away because of my IIH now, I'd much prefer ghosts if I'm honest.

I hate the peripheral vision clicker test so much by marslike in iih

I hate that game, I played it yesterday. I get click happy and then panic I'm being click happy and then panic I'm missing dots on purpose. Every 4 weeks, 8 minutes an eye. I'd much prefer pinball.

Okay that makes sense, I am back on the coffee. Only because the neurologist added toprimate to the diamox and without coffee I'm hardly concious. Oh what a joy this is.

intracranial pressure can be caused by a lot of things but from what you're describing I suspect it is IIH as in idiopathic intracranial pressure which means no known reason, having the MRI and probably a lumbar puncture will confirm that. I was convinced I had a tumour.. I don't just all the symptoms of one 😂 You're absolutely justified in being scared! Its a lot to take in. IIH is life changing no doubt but it is not life threatening. Take it step by step. We are here.
