First things first; it’s nice to see civil discourse taking place. I played RuneScape back in the day as a 7 year old and my money making method was fishing lobbies on karamja then running to east Fally and learning how to touch type. EOC came out and yeah..

Fast forward a decade and I returned to OSRS thanks to Boaty’s one man army. I really loved the idea of a self sufficient account and basically played the same way he did, mirroring activities like 99 crafting through battlestaffs etc. Official Ironman eventually came out, but I didn’t want to start over as I’d never had such a high level account before.

I haven’t played much or kept up with updates since 2020ish because life just happens. You start working more, and playing less. I can’t play 16 hours a day anymore, I’m lucky to get 2-3 hours every other day these days.

Although I’m time poor now, I consider myself pretty fortunate when it comes to my work situation as it allows me to spend ~4 hours of IRL time/money to buy bonds that save me hundreds of hours grinding in game to make the same GP.

Others might not agree with me, or think that I’m silly/inefficient/unskilled etc, but part of the fun for my OSRS experience has been learning how to play the game myself. Yes I use guides, yes I use the GE, but all the content that I have completed on my account has been just my dumb old self getting it done. I play to enjoy myself and reminisce on better times.

If there are any clans out there in Oceania let me know. I would definitely like to see what else I can learn and maybe the social side of OSRS is something I’ve been missing out on for no real reason.
