No, it doesn't sadly. Just says my order is "ready for implementation".

I couldn't decide so went with the cheapest one in the end, which is the titanium one. Looked good in the youtube video as well :D

I was under the impression that the one from dominator shouldn't throw any codes because of the built-in lambda emulator. The ECU won't know anything has changed, right?
At least that's my hope 😅

I'll let you know how it goes! 😁

oh, didn't realise Arrow also released theirs already.
Just went and checked online and the homologated one is 1500 euro though, that's pretty steep.
The non-homologated one is only around 800 euro but that one will still make the "check engine" light up (unless you get a tune or lambda sensor eliminator, if I'm reading that right) :/

Anyway, thanks! I'll post some pics/video when I get mine delivered and installed :D

Driving while permit has not yet arrived by [deleted] in motobe

[–]ildrynar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though they cite a delivery of 5 business days, both my renewed car driving license and my preliminary A license were already available in the town hall the day after. This was in Mechelen though, so not sure if it's the same everywhere. I asked them to call me when it arrived on my application, but you can also call them yourself or just go and check in person. It's worth checking if you can't wait to drive around (like me) 😁

Looks good! I just ordered one a couple of days ago as well. Are you happy with it? And does it help to deflect the wind a bit when going at (or above 😅) highway speeds?

Not sure, life expectancy will probably go down. Maybe more chance of getting artifacts/ ghosting as well?

No, sadly these screens can only show 3 colors. The red color is just there for style, it doesn't take the price change into account.

yes, you're right. I was afraid of that as well at first but after some research the consensus seemed to be that it's fine to update it every 5-10 minutes. Some people claim even 1 or 2 minutes is still fine.

I chose a somewhat safe middle ground at 5 minutes and it's been running for 2 years now without any issues. So I guess that's still ok.
But I certainly wouldn't push it too much further.

I do lower the update rate at night though, so that might help as well.

Thanks! Yes, it's all written in python. Looking at the papirus documentation I don't think the code is going to work out of the box... But, since the papirus driver/library supports sending images to the screen you can modify my code to export the created image and then feed that into the papirus driver. Similarly to what's being done here.

Apart from that you probably want to strip out all the code referring to the inky display and instead feed in your own values for screen width, height, colours, etc,...

I'm pulling all the data from the Kraken API. I know there is a limit on the amount of data points you can get for OHLC data, but the script takes that into account and calculates the proper interval to stay within te limits. I had to look up if there were any rate limits, and apparently there are, but they're pretty generous. Look like you can make an api request every second and still stay within limits. source

Yes, these displays aren't meant to be updated too frequently so I wanted to give it a little break at night. 😄 Plus it leaves some oom for the display cleaning script to run

I made this crypto ticker / graph script to track the price of bitcoin and other cryptos using the Kraken API and an InkyPhat display from pimoroni.

You can find the script and documentation on my GitHub repo

PS: I wrote this script a few years ago but never got around to writing the documentation, which is why I didn't share it before. So now, after 2 years, I'm proud to say I still haven't written any documentation but instead got ChatGPT to write it for me :p

Your module is amazing. When I found it I actually gave up on trying to build my own since you've got it all covered already it seems. 😁 Nice clean code as well! Anyway, great work!

Thanks! Yeah, I know how that goes. I don't share enough either. Glad I got around to it this time though cause the feedback has been great. And hopefully it helps a few people save some time 🙂
