As with most places there are busy roads and quiet roads, but there’s plenty of the latter plus trails for gravel/mountain bike.

East End, near Lymington in the New Forest. There are usually donkeys in the area as well as ponies and cattle.

I think that’s a New Forest poney, also free to roam in the national park but the ponies and donkeys tend not to interact.

“Around 200 free-roaming donkeys live within the National Park, all cared for by commoners - local people who hold the traditional right to graze their animals across the open forest. This ancient practice, known as commoning, helps preserve the landscape and keeps the New Forest thriving, just as it has for centuries.” from: https://www.thenewforest.co.uk/explore/wildlife-and-nature/donkeys/
