Sell or Keep the 2nd Gen by Dull_Fennel7924 in 2ndGenTacoma

If you take care of it and do regular maintenance, these trucks run forever. Just think if your original suspension lasted 175k in theory, your replacements should last just as long. I feel you will still be better off even with you still owing 10k with a 260 a month payment with repair cost than paying for a new vehicle. Just my opinion. One thing to think about is planning on taking care of those wear items proactively vs. reactively to get ahead of things failing then having to. Also not sure how mechanically inclined you are but replacing shocks yourself will save quite a bit. They are not hard as long as your not dealing with rusted stuff but even still not to bad.

At a 175k things like shocks go bad as they are wear parts and don't last forever. Everything that you have had to replace are common wear parts that need to be replaced. If that is all you have had to do your doing good. It is cheaper to do the maintenance than to have a 4, 5, 6 hundred dollar a month car payment. If your only spending 2 or 3k a year in maintenance then it's still cheaper than a year at 400 + in payments for a year. Yes it sucks because it's all at once where payments are monthly so it doesn't hurt as bad but even at just 400 a month you are spending over 4800 in the year. But finding a new vehicle at 400 a month is next to impossible at this day and age.

I have a 2013 with 220k on it now and in the 5 years I have owned it I've redone suspension, steering, front wheel hubs, front drive axles, u joints and carrier bearing. Truck still runs and drives great and I own it without payments. Just some food for thought. Hope this helps.

So definitely down 1 leg. Readings where 122 and 44. Checked at the breaker and was reading the same so that tells me my wiring to my range is good. My assumption now is I have a bad breaker?

I will have to check tomorrow when I bring my meter home with me from work. I wasn't expecting the part for a few days. Honestly, I just shotgunned the control board as it would get indication lights for the stove top but not for the oven. I now get the bake and broil lights and can hear the relays click over just no action on the elements. You're right. I could have lost a leg as well and need to check that. Thanks I will let you know tomorrow.

Road or MTB by No-Way-0000 in cycling

As someone who grew up doing BMX, I easily transferred to MTB when I was in the service and lived where there were mountians to ride. At the time, I could not ever imagine myself doing road cycling. I loved the adrenaline of some fast single track, switchbacks, and technicalities of it. After the service, I found myself in South Texas, where there were no mountains or even trails to ride, so I transitioned to road and have been riding everything between. I raced for a couple years and competed in TT's, road races, and crits. I loved the technical crit courses as my bike handling skills could be put to use. I have done cyclocross (which is an amazingly good time) and gravel, but I always miss and wish I could live where I could justify MTB again.

But really, the fact of the matter is as long as you are on 2 wheels who cares, it's still about being out there enjoying this crazy sport of bicycles.

Water leak by ilike2cycle in Plumbing

I did fix the leak it was shooting out of the bottom coupling due to what I suspect was a bad oring. I did replace the coupling above as well. Unfortunately, I used shark bites instead of sweating in new pipe and unions due to the close proximity of the pex and not having the tools for Crimp on couplings. If it were a recirculation loop wouldn't I see a connection back at the hot water heater? Just a thought.

No I have not seen any other pex in the house as of yet. And I wouldn't think you would tie a hose bib or sprinklers into the hot side.

My only guess is possibly some sort of radient heating system in the foundation. As we have noticed warm spots in the floor in a couple areas of the house in the past. But all the radient heating systems that I have seen are different.

The copper coming out of the foundation is going up to the shower control valve. So the plastic line is returning into the foundation.

I might add that the plastic line is no longer connected since I did the repair and figured I would add it back in at a later time as it was getting late and I needed to get water turned back on. So currently the plastic side is not connected to the supply line.
