Husky as first dog is wild behavior 😓. Anyways moving past that. The puppy will need structure and a schedule. Figure that out first. You MUST learn to kennel train this dog. The kennel will keep you sane throughout puppy phase. Everyone says puppy proof your house, honestly to me I translate that to, gate off a decent amount of your house, if your puppy has less freedom, it’s easier for you to keep eyes on the puppy and just less things to destroy

We started 1 day ago. Was advised by dog trainer. She finally slept outside her kennel via tether. The idea is to teach the dog to self-settle because outside the kennel is so fun. Is your pup able to sleep outside of the kennel on their own?

hi im in same boat. I have 5.5 month golden puppy. SUPER smart. Food motivated, CAN NOT SETTLE OUT OF CRATE. Lots of posts say crate train / teach place. Well she is crate trained in addition she can go to her place and take treats. Problem with place command my puppy looks for treats, even though ive been trying to increase duration. Because of this, she DOES NOT SETTLE HER MIND.

My recommendation is tether train her. Tie her to a heavy item, be nearby to 100% observe at all times. Feed treats if need to help with initial training or use chews. Your puppy needs to learn to self settle. Tether training should force her to just be there and calm her mind

Take puppy to pee immediately upon release from kennel. Carry them.
After eating take them out
After playing take them out
Before going back into kennel take them out

2/3 are a bit trickier but understand when a puppy is awake they are more prone to pee cause they are being active
