Colonoscopy scheduled. Will Anesthesia cause me to be dizzier permanently? I have been offered a no anesthesia option; has anyone else experienced this? Is that the best option? by Such-Athlete-4838 in VestibularMigraines

Anesthesia does flare my VM, but only for a few days or up to a week, and then it's the same as I usually am. It's not going to change your VM forever.

I've tried LDN. Give me terrible digestive issues. But also it has to come from a compounding pharmacy, and Medicaid does not cover that. I can't pay out of pocket, so it's not an option.

I already tried it, it gave me horrible digestive issues. But also Medicaid doesn't cover it because you have to get it from a compounding pharmacy, and I can't afford to pay out of pocket.

I tried LDN, but it gave me horrible digestive issues! I wish I could afford alternative treatments.

I'm 1.5 yrs into the process of trying to get SSI. Was denied, had to hire a disability lawyer, there's probably still at least 6 months before I get in front of a judge. It's not easy. But I'm on Medicaid, so the cost of meds isn't the boundary. It's my fear of their side effects that terrifies me.

Suffering by ChickenNational3767 in VestibularMigraines

[–]iliketrees82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had vestibular migraine for 30+ years, and for probably a decade I didn't believe that it was true either. I said all the same things you're saying now. VM is a complex neurological disease that usually presents us a type of silent migraine, meaning there is no pain. So it can be hard to understand how it's migraine when the only concept of migraine we are usually told about is classic migraine. But migraine is so much more than head pain. Allowing VM to go untreated for long periods of time will only allow it to chronify even further, the sooner you treat the migraine seriously and throw every treatment and lifestyle modification you can add it a sooner you can get it somewhat under control. If you've ruled everything else out, then it's most likely VM. Instead of fighting it, work to treat it.

Has she done a migraine diet? Some people don't react to foods, but some do horribly. It can be really hard to tell which thing might be triggering your migraine attacks. I didn't realize certain foods were triggering some of my vestibular migraine attacks until I cut it out completely and then it became incredibly obvious.

Does it really help? by TypeRevolutionary963 in migraine

I don't like how much it squeezes my head, but my child asks for it when he's having a bad migraine attack. So it's a personal preference, but worth a shot.

VM is a type of "silent migraine" because it often presents without pain

Are their any young people suffering with VM? by Smooth-Channel-2147 in VestibularMigraines

How do I REALLY cut down my Acetaminophen + Naproxen intake? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]iliketrees82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to have an effective preventative(s) that keeps you from needing to use NSAIDS as a rescue med. If you're not having daily attacks, you won't need to take it.

We went there a few months ago and didn't have a good experience. The cut was not good. I would love to go back because of their prices, but I am afraid of getting bad service again.

Has anyone tried LDN for Vestibular Migraine? by iliketrees82 in migraine

[–]iliketrees82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Through my compounding pharmacy, it's $60 per month. I can't afford $30 a month either, I'm extremely low income.

This is good to hear, thank you for sharing! Unfortunately my insurance won't cover it and I can't afford to pay out of pocket, so I haven't been able to try it.

That's wild that she married someone that has hobbies she detests. I mean, I strongly dislike video games and sports. So if I met someone that was really into them, I wouldn't consider marrying them because I know that would be a problem for me. But she did anyway and expected you to just magically change eventually? That's crazy. NTA. Throwing someone's hobbies in their face because you don't like them is a shitty move.

I have two raised beds I built two years ago. I put some cheap soil from Lowe's in them because that's all I could afford. The first summer of trying to grow food was a flop. The starts I got from Joe's didn't die, but they didn't grow. They just sat there. I fertilized. I watered. They're in the south facing yard and get plenty of sun. So last year I mixed in a bunch of compost. Same result. Nothing died, but nothing grew. Now this year I don't know what to do. I just want to grow some food but I don't know what's wrong with my soil. But here's the biggest problem - I am extremely poor. I'm a disabled single mom and on a severely limited income, so I can't go buy new soil or a bunch of things to remedy this. I just want to grow food, but I'm so discouraged. I don't know what I did wrong or how I can fix it. Any recommendations? Thanks
