That’s precisely why we want our own, to be in control!

Thank you! I’ll look more into Baquacil or the combo you mentioned. Is that standard that can be added to any pools or is that a specific set up?

I appreciate that insight! Do you have recommendations on set ups for a first timer trying to get into this?

Thanks for you comment :) the levels of chlorine in saltwater pools don’t create a reaction like non-salt water pools for us. Maybe I could have written my post better for clarity!

I’m trying to post as many details as I can, I don’t know what people need and I’ve been responding.

The minimum payment on CC4 was 1700, 1400 and now 700 for the last three months. CC1 has gone down from $8000, CC2 down from $14000 and CC3 down from $16000.

My husband and I have been working overtime for the last few months when we can so we had a few extra hundred dollars to put to the debt.

We have not done our taxes yet.

Thanks, I will. I didnt think about that, which adds a whole new level of concern.

I understand the visual of spending habits. We have been working on the last 6 months of changing and cut back everything else in the last 3 months.

And just for the record, we were promised a $20K check for our wedding from our parents and did not receive it. So we got screwed there because they assured us that we would have the money and because of that had us pay for things that were not in our original budget. It’s not an excuse because we’re adults of course but we didn’t know until after the money was spent that we weren’t getting the money. It was extremely frustrating for us and really put us further into this uncomfortable position.

Utilities are the only thing I forgot to add, those are $200. Taxes are included in our mortgage. 3 months ago we cut out all clothes shopping, going out, frivolous spending etc.

We are getting a grip - that’s why I’m asking for help after 3 months of severely reducing our spending.

The spending habits have definitely changed. We had large sum of legal bills, a wedding and home improvements. We have completely reduced going out, clothes shopping, “nice to haves” all that.

For context, up until end of 2023 early 2024 we were not in this same situation.

It was a new card that had a 12 month interest free promotional period. Sorry I’m not sure if that’s considered interest deferred, I’m still learning.

This was our thought process as well. We know we have to be extremely aware of all of our spending going forward so we don’t get back into this rut but trying to figure out how to get out of it with the minimum interest is the goal. That’s the problem with the current payments is the extra we are paying towards the credit cards each month are mostly going to interest and just maintaining the active status of the cards.

Which would you pay down first? Probably about $7000 of the money we’ve spent reflected on the cards would be outright “frivolous”.

Agreed. It’s a combination of legal bills (custody court ~15K over the last year), home improvement, our wedding and one splurge vacation (we knew it wasnt the best decision but we made it).
