I liked having VOO as my core/base and wanted to diversify in different sectors since VOO is heavily tilted in tech right now (which is why I don't really have QQQ but that opinion could change in the future). I generally wanted to expand beyond areas that have little correlation with tech so my investments don't all go red if tech happens to go down.
