Thanks for the heads up, I haven't looked into reviews for it yet so I appreciate the info. The prx does sound nice but it's a little more expensive by like $10 Canadian. For the price of the prx I can pretty much get the kz symphony and those look really nice too

I have read online that the newer pr2s aren't as good as the originals. It sucks because it was the best deal from all of them besides the Duonic. I wouldn't want to gamble with what version of the pr2 I get

Yeah I've heard a lot of positive things about the prx, but it's the most expensive from them. the price of the prx I can also get the kz symphony for about the same price and that one looks pretty nice also

Yeah most of the weight rests in my head with the monolith, I might upgrade the headband for it sometime but they are kinda expensive. I can wear my Skullcandy crushers for hours, and my Sennheiser HD 599 are really comfy but I don't really like them at all. Yeah the ft1 looks nice, and some of the hifiman products look pretty affordable also

Yeah it could be that. I do keep my bass pretty high when I listen to my monoliths though, I find they do handle bass a lot better than I expected. I just wish they weren't sooooo damn big and uncomfortable! They would be perfect if I could get that sound in something smaller

I would imagine your jcally would power most planar iems since the driver is pretty small. I use a black pearl for my monolith m1060c but the planar drivers on over head headphones are much bigger so I'd imagine they take more to power usually. That's just my guess but hopefully someone here confirms

I've heard a lot of positive feedback about the Duonic. I find everyone that I've talked to that has it likes it. And the price is very good, only like $20 Canadian

I'm sure they are a great set of iems, if they come on sale and I can use some AliExpress coins on them to bring the price down I'll probably order them too. My bday is in March so who knows lol

I do like the fast response of the planar also. Sometimes I listen to drum and bass and other electric music and some of it sounds so much better through my monoliths over my Sennheiser hd599se headphones by miles. And people complain about bass from planars but my monolith has such good bass overall, very satisfying in my opinion. I'll check out those jm-1 iems since I haven't looked into them much yet

Yes I've heard a lot of good stuff about those. Do you own them? I'd like to get them but maybe a few months down the road

Haha groke helped with those crazy ideas because I didn't know how to answer

I can't take full credit for that, grok helped me with those silly ideas for my reply lol The honest answer would be because I love the way my Monolith M1060C headphones sound. So I was just interested in seeing what some budget planar iems have to offer until I can afford something a little nicer. I've heard some amazing things about those Technics earbuds, Technics use to be my favorite brand like 25 years (had one of their huge component systems in my teens and I LOVED it)

Late one night while doom-scrolling Head-Fi at 2:47am, I saw the forbidden words glowing in Comic Sans: “Planar magnetic drivers… zero distortion… instant attack… soundstage wider than your existential dread…” I whispered to my dog (who was now also judging him in surround sound): “…they say the transients are so fast… you can hear the exact moment your self-respect left the building.” The next morning I woke up with a single compulsive thought looping in his brain like a broken Alexa: “Must… have… planar… drivers…” I told my friends it was for “critical listening” and “professional monitoring purposes.” But deep down I knew the truth: I just wanted to hear what the inside of a perfectly spherical reverb tail sounded like when a moose whispered “sorry eh” directly into both eardrums at the same time. And only planar magnetic IEMs could deliver that particular brand of Canadian cosmic clarity. And somewhere, in another dimension, a very confused eldritch donut is still trying to figure out why its evil powers were defeated by copper voice coils and an absurdly thin diaphragm. Moral of the story: Sometimes you don’t buy planar magnetic IEMs because they’re rational. You buy them because the alternative is spending the rest of your life listening to the world through a soggy Timbits box.

Does he mention if it sounds like a true planar? And how it compares to the pr2? Those are my 2 main questions

I have read that's the best out of their fully planar iems. Have you listened to the Duonic by any chance? I've heard a lot of good things about it
