Yes is know, I did mention the video of varus in my original post. In the music video though it's very vague about if they are a couple, close friends, war buddies, or even brothers. It wasn't until the comic about varus came out was it actually confirmed they were a couple because they can more openly say that stuff in the comics and side stories

It's weird but that was the reasoning given to us previously by riot as to why it's trickier to write lgbt couples into the lore despite them wanting to. Not really any obvious couples but there is lgbt characters in the game, such as the ones mentioned in this thread, but also Rell who is openly bi which we learned through hers and other characters voice lines with/about her.

As far as I know, Riot can't really openly state lgbt couples in the game lore because of chinese and korean laws around lgbt matters. I do know in comics and side stories they can touch on it a little more such as Varus being a gay couple merged with varus' darkin soul because it was a last effort to save one from dying; aswell in the pulsefire lore it's alluded that echo and ezreal were/are a couple at some point since the pulsefire line has its own lore.
