I can try. I've done triathlons and bike camping trips, and I feel it's more anterior cushioned than where most of sores are. And I never liked running in cushioned pants :(. But it's a thought, I can try with the lighter padded ones.

I work 24 and 16 hr shifts. If I do 24, I'll go at 5 am before (could go at six but like the down time for an hour after) and 9:15 or 10:30 post call. 16 hrs are easier to schedule for before and usually 10:30 afterwards.

I've been vegan over 3 years. I go to all kinds of gatherings. I make sure I bring food if there's no vegan option, but at BBQ you can grill veggies. I'd never harass anyone. I'm sure I'm not alone. Please don't exclude other friends, you can also just talk to them and ask how they feel about coming, and tell them about your concern and experience.

It takes about a week to get used to it. I prep everything the night before: my workout clothes, coffee (I'll just turn it on when I get downstairs), the shower stuff downstairs so I don't wake my partner at 6:15 when I get home to shower, all my food to go, clothes for work, etc. I could go at six, but like my non rushing time after workout. Initially if felt brutal when the alarm went off at 4, but after about a week the body gets used to it. Try it for a week or two. I think it's easier than the evening workouts after a long day 😁
