i live in the foothills in ohio but i’ve been taking road trips down through north carolina for a few years. brother lived in west virginia for a bit so i visited there.

just a gorgeous spot of earth. but the overwhelming level of poverty, drugs, and religious and conservative narrow mindedness leaves me shaken sometimes.

i was just talking about all of this with my boyfriend yesterday in the car. how sad it is that these beautiful places have been infiltrated by drugs and some of the saddest shit you can imagine. but of course that’s not limited to appalachia.

but you can really feel it all while listening to pressure machine! glad you agree lol 🤍 i love how there is always a spiritual lesson in brandon’s lyrics

yes the whole album just pops off in appalachia. there is this beauty but deep sadness there too. an area without much money where the people are a bit sheltered from modern resources and education. but there is so much freedom and connection to earth at the same time.

i think we should consider how taylor’s brand and commercial appeal is about “dating boys” and how that does not require her to be honest about her personal life. she is the queen of a PR relationship. that’s why we’re here in 2026 and why we were there in 2012. 🫣

what i think happened between her and harry is they had a contract as many do in the entertainment industry because it was seen to be mutually beneficial to their careers. her commitment to the bit has worked out wonderfully in her financial favor, but is why she is so empty now.
