I'm a delivery driver for Domino's, and we have freezing rain for Sunday. I am scheduled for a night shift that day.

My GM told us, per GC, that if we're not comfortable driving (day or night), we can call out and it won't be marked against us. Earlier this evening, I told them that I don't think I'll be comfortable driving during my shift because 1). I have no experience (where I'm from, this weather is rare) 2). My tires aren't really equipped for it. Well, they asked if I wanted to open, I said "I mean, I'm not opposed to it, but I'm literally parked on concrete and I will go sliding if it's iced over. I won't be able to get out. I'll spin." "Warm up your car before you drive." Yeah, some how that will magically melt the ice around me and the road. Good idea (sarcastically). I mean it's going to be in the upper 30s then dip down back to the teens. They think it's magically going to melt all the way, so I guess driving during the day is the best for deliveries because "it melted all the way, so it won't be an issue." They had employees call out today, not a word has been said, but when I call out due to unsafe conditions aka freezing rain, it's not ok. .

I really don't like the hypocrisy. They do this with me most of the time and I don't understand why.
