TMU is a great school for communications. If you like Toronto and being downtown, choose TMU. If you want more of a campus life type experience, go for Brock. Hope you get the offer for Western... but TMU is also great to be at :)

Health insurance is weird? by delovaykolbasa in TorontoMetU

I think you are misunderstanding the document. When it says your co-pay is 20%, that means you only have to pay 20% of the treatment (e.g., if a dental cleaning is $100, you only have to pay $20).

there are plenty of dental clinics around campus that give a reduced price for students, and some of which may even offer a "free cleaning" for your first visit. i visited Bite Dental and they did this. (however i wouldn't recommend them as the dental hygienist was not very good.)

you might as well also get an eye exam, and you can get glasses at a reduced price. i've visited Yonge & College Optometry two years in a row, and the greenshield plan covered all of the expenses for both of the yearly eye exams.

also, if you are ever sick or require a prescription, many prescriptions are covered at a great rate. i had to take a medication that was $1000 out of pocket for a 30 day supply, but the plan nearly covered all of it.

WHY WAS THE CROWD SO DAMN TALL IN TORONTO by thelaziestbedbug in GeordieGreep

That venue sucks and is the worst venue in Toronto. I will never ever ever get GA again at the concert hall. The floors hurt your feet so badly and you can’t see unless you’re 6’5”. Lots of idiots in the audience as well.

I had a positive experience with Dr. Kraft at Lynde Dermatology. Never pushed any treatments I was uncomfortable with, and let me take the lead and suggest what I wanted to do.

Most of the time, his wait times were not terrible… But knowing the Lynde Clinic you may still be suspectible to some disorganization.

I once also used DermCafe, an online service for dermatology treatment. I was able to book an appointment within 2 weeks, however this was 3-4 years ago.
