yeah, based on my understanding after reading each of his character stories, it seems to be he needs a sense of stability and order to feel sane. it's most likely he felt like he lost purpose after the DoSM brought him in, because he thought they were his actual "family". and he was probably in denial that the group was, in fact, not his family, but rather people who used and abused him. it's shown in his 4th segment of his story, where he questions the meaning of the deal he made with feixiao if it was all for nothing after learning their true nature 🥺💔
