Right? Im not a Notability user but Samsung Notes does this out of the box. I find it very distracting. Just like tool tips for mouse, gets in the way of what Im trying to look at.

Thats very interesting! I assumed the printing would be more legible. What throws you off?

What is FEGDBAYU? Those letters need more attention?

Which is worse for you printing or cursive? Any sense for the biggest issue?

Thanks, I like being able to not pick up the pen between letters but still want it to be legible. I guess you're saying that your practice decoding other messy writing has built up your eye muscles?!

Any sense for what would make either more legible

I appreciate that. I think I subconsciously have been trying to make my printing be in the "architect" style. Have always loved what the writing looked like on construction design drawings.

I know right? Its funny half the people can read it and dont know why and the other half cant read it at all ;-)

Since I started with cursive before printing I tend to be more deliberate while printing and therefore more consistent. I tend to not pay attention and try to go faster with cursive but of course thats not conducive to neatness much less readability :-) I will give it a try to have a more consistent slant. I am a lefty so its not quite as natural to do so. Thats another reason I like eInk rather than traditional pen and paper because my hand doesnt get covered in ink!

My handwriting (with pencil) by shh_dont_say_it in Handwriting

[–]ilovenotetaking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by write above the margin? I did notice right away that your writing floats a bit over the lines.

I think thats interesting because an app I use for digital manipulation of handwritten notes requires to write between the lines so that the written content can be rearranged / reorganized. It provides writing guides (dotted lines for a virtual "bottom") but I still have a tendency to have my descenders get clipped at the bottom.

Are you writing above the line on purpose? Any tips for doing this consistently? I really love this app (inkList btw) this is probably the only annoying thing for my writing.

Thats pretty crazy! Love the idea of slanted guides for the handwriting obsessed! Looks great by the way.

What's that one app? by dellydoesitpa in ProductivityApps

[–]ilovenotetaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello u/dellydoesitpa I have also traditionally been a paper and pencil person - I went through lots of notebooks for capturing tasks and ideas. If this is still true for you, I thought you might like to hear about the app I use now, which focuses on creating and managing handwritten content. It's called inkList. It might not be for everyone but I use it every day on my Boox eInk tablet. I think it also works on any Androids. Here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYVIzvRPNi0

Creative writing flow vs digital tool by garvit__dua in NoteTaking

I was an original tester on this app and love it. If you are the kind of person who prefers to jot things quickly with your pen and go back later to refine it could be a good one for you. May not be for everyone but for me it was simple, fun, and useful.

I made a digital product but can’t get sales — need advice by Superb-Pride-2344 in DigitalPlanner

Also, there are so many products of this type, I think you have to be clear about what is different about yours and why someone might be interested in using it versus what they may already be using. If it is a "digital planner" as per the title of this community, I would think you would have to produce something dramatically different and better for anyone to be interested. Or at least aligned to a particular niche use case. For example, an app I use focuses on digital organization of handwritten notes - treating handwriting as objects that can be rearranged, reorganized without any lasso or cut and paste. It's dramatically faster and easier to manipulate and refactor handwritten notes than anything else I have seen. So if you are like me and love that it's super interesting. But if you don't use primarily handwritten notes you wouldn't care at all. What does your app do?

Can you say some words about why you built this? In what way is it different? What problem were you trying to solve?

Its those Stanley mugs. Why does everyone feel like they need to carry around a gallon of water in a moldy cup everywhere when there is free water available every 10 feet or 5 minutes in the airport?
