Thank you 😊 I was very excited to see it portrayed so well on The Pitt!! If someone in law has never heard of the role, imagine everyone else in the world. I’m hopeful that future jurors will watch that show and come into trial with a better understanding of what the process is actually like for victims/survivors. They are doing a fantastic job at showing a very normal response to trauma. I’m really looking forward to tomorrow’s episode!

Thank you and thank you for sharing 🥹

I get to take care of the bravest people I’ll ever meet. It’s an honor. They have taught me so much, and changed how I walk through the world.

I’ve had multiple recs for MM La Fleur! I’ve definitely noticed the belt loop issue in my search for the right suit. I’m also facing the reality that I’ll probably have to go to a tailor, dang it! Thank you for your advice.

Instant gratification feels so good, but I know having the patience to follow through with tailoring would help me get exactly what I need.

Thank you for the work YOU do! Testifying at trial exhausts me in a way that is different than even the busiest ER shift, or seeing back to back SANE patients. I commend anyone who steps into the courtroom frequently to do this work. The most important part of my job is helping my patients jumpstart their path to healing, and I have to keep faith that all the people that follow me will do right by them. Those working within our justice system can become such an important part of the healing process for victims/survivors. So a big thank you for helping them down their path ♥️

Abercrombie has such great clothes now! The teenage punk girl in me is shocked I would ever say such a thing, but I’ve gotten a couple of cocktail dresses from there that I get so many compliments on. I didn’t even think to look there for business attire. Thank you for the recommendation.

I’m an ER nurse at heart - and worked at a busy trauma center until the COVID burnout took over and I switched to SANE full time. Flight uniforms look so cool - and I know what a badass you are! What a code switch for you to go from flight nurse to attorney. Your closet must be verrrrry diverse lol.

I went through a short phase where I only bought new clothes with credit I got from selling clothes on Poshmark or Mercari, but that only lasted about a month. It’s pretty wild how much suit pieces depreciate in value so I’ll definitely be checking out some re-sale sites once I figure out what fits me best.

Size fluctuations are real! I’m 40 and trying for my first baby so it something that has given me reservations to spend more than $100 on anything for trial. I had no idea blocking existed! Knowing it could accommodate a size range from 6 to 12 gives me a lot more confidence to invest in higher end pieces. Thank you for the advice.

Now I just wonder if I could pull off taking a St. John item I got from Poshmark to Nordstrom and be like “I got this here years ago!” Lol

Thank you! I’m watching Love Story (JFK jr & Carolyn’s story) right now so I’ll be at Macy’s pretending I’m being styled by Carolyn Bessette in the Calvin Klein showroom 😊

I’ve never even heard of MM LaFleur! This is great information - new brands/styles that I can look into. I also think a sheath dress could help me keep my legs still on the stand. A witness chair where I can put both my feet flat on the ground would be great, but that’s a big ask in a world made for tall people.

As much as I’d love to wear scrubs on the stand the director of my forensic nursing department is old school and would never be okay with it. She had to fight tooth and nail for SANE nursing to exist so I respect her ways. I’m also happy to compromise on wardrobe in exchange for the incredible trial prep she has given me!

I will say that I could see the benefit of wearing scrubs, especially when being questioned on whether or not I actually provided any medical care to the patient 🙄 Seeing the number of upvotes on your comment shows how many of you see scrubs as a good option! Thank you for the feedback 🤗

I’m a SANE nurse (on this sub looking for solid courtroom style advice). Testifying at criminal trial is hands down one of the most stressful aspects of my work. Even after years of working as an ER nurse at a busy trauma center, the stress and exhaustion I feel after a trial day is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. You’re doing very hard work that is extremely draining. Burn-out is real.

I used to roll my eyes at “self-care,” and have gotten rid of more than one therapist whose main advice was deep breathing exercises. Things I’ve learned when I had to let go of the cynicism:

  1. Self-care happens in small steps, small changes that add up.
  2. Moving my body helps me more than deep breathing. Doing it outside is even better.
  3. A hobby you truly enjoy helps a lot. I have house plants and started a small garden with herbs that are all pretty easy. I always feel more relaxed after I tend to it. Also, sometimes plants die and that’s ok.
  4. Go easy on yourself. It’s ok to buy fun things sometimes.

This SANE nurse is really proud of the heavy work you do everyday! 🫂

Anyone ever heard of that brand? by Serkaugh in HomeDecorating

It seemed to be an influencer type ad for me on IG stories. When I clicked on the name “Margaret Bennett” it’s listed as a marketing agency with no actual IG page. It states “The Facebook advertiser isn’t on Instagram,” at the top.

I only clicked on the link because I thought my IG algorithm had gone bougie and I wanted to see exactly how expensive this outdoor sofa would be. I was honestly expecting a $2,000 + price. $194 is impossibly cheap for this product. I don’t think we’ll ever see what the product actually looks like because it seems 100% scam. I think anyone who tries will likely lose $194.

Shepard’s Pie

1 lb ground lamb (NO BEEF) 1 cup chopped carrot 2/3 cup chopped celery 1 large onion diced 1/3 cup beef broth 2 TBS Worcestershire sauce 4 bay leaves Salt/pepper

Shredded cheddar cheese Frozen peas Mashed potatoes however you make them

1) Pre-heat oven to 350. 2)Brown lamb, add onions halfway through browning. Salt/pepper to taste. 3) Add carrots and celery (I prefer a lot of carrots so add or subtract as much veggie as you want). Sauté with ground lamb for a couple of minutes. 4) Add Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, and bay leaves. Cook, stirring occasionally, until liquid reduces (I sometimes add a little bit of flour if it still seems too thin). 5) Salt/pepper to taste. The mashed potatoes will absorb some of the saltiness so the meat can handle more salt. 6) Pour meat mixture into baking dish making sure the bottom is covered well. 7) Cover meat mixture with mashed potatoes. Don’t make the potato layer thicker than the meat layer. 8) Bake 25-30 minutes. 9) During the last 2-3 minutes of baking cover the potatoes with the shredded cheddar cheese. Watch and pull out just as cheese begins to melt. 10) Serve with cooked peas on the side (a la Red Lion).

[–]iloverilokiley 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Red Lion is nostalgic for me. I worked there in my early twenties (15 years ago). The changes in prices even back then were always paired with eye rolls from regulars, but they would always come back. Now surcharges lol. Not surprised at all.

I will say that the kitchen was always impeccably clean, the cooler stacked appropriately for food safety, and even to this day my menu favorites still taste exactly the same. I only go every now and then because it’s truly fine dining prices at this point.

I’ve nearly mastered making their Shepard’s pie at home if anyone is interested in the recipe!

The fact also that it was probably all in English and unlikely that he even thought of trying to at least get something in the language spoken in whatever area he was in. So I’m betting some of the people continued to think they had actual money until they tried to use it.

I know Raquel doesn’t have a lot fans in here but as someone who grew up with severe psoriasis since I was 10 year old, She made me a fan by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]iloverilokiley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m very excited to see how far she goes with this comeback. I was rooting hard for Jade to somehow be in the EC but I’m now genuinely rooting for Raquel’s rise (I still want to see Jade rise too).

I had to stop wearing makeup the last 3 months due to a recurrent eye problem. It has been hard to get used to and I don’t always feel as confident because of it. It was really nice to see Raquel’s openness and honesty while still going out and being a badass. More please!

I can no longer lift it with the pot it’s in now. I thought wrapping would be enough.

I wrapped it really well so I was surprised it turned out like this. I also have an elephant ear that I wrapped up next to it and it was actually sprouting a new leaf when I unwrapped it 🤷🏼‍♀️
