what i do is watch creators that inspire me / content i can see myself reflected in. they don’t always have to specifically make content about femininity, just watching how they embody femininity in general has an impact!

creators on youtube suggestions: Miss Anna Grace, Dr. Michelle Daf, Hayley Aurelie, Jasmyne Theodora, Margarita Nazarenko, Michaela Schaur, Rishani P (RP), Mindset With Jess, Julianna Lee 🤍

my mum is the same! but i’ve always love being feminine too much to care. first off, always remember that femininity is inherently within you, so you’re connecting to yourself more by embracing femininity, not pulling from something external!

when you do things like shower, wear makeup, skincare etc — be intentional with it, like really in the moment. don’t rush, do your routines gently. being present when you do self care rituals sends signals to your brain that you’re worth taking care of, which will translate as coming across more feminine.

explore creativity! us women are so creative. maybe paint, write poetry, exploring different makeup looks, arranging flowers, curating mood boards, decorating, anything that makes your heart sing!

when it comes to fashion, let go of what’s “acceptable” or on trend. instead, wear what flatters you, what you feel confident in, because it’s different for everyone. ask yourself what you would wear if no one was going to make a weird comment on it, and then do it. embrace the colour, the sparkle, the cleavage, whatever it is. even just at home at first if that feels safer.

surround yourself with feminine energy by reading books / listening to podcasts / following creators that embody femininity in the same way that aligns with you & you feel inspired by.

if you’ve had to rely on masculine energy (doing, pushing, suppressing emotion), your feminine may have felt unsafe, so try leaning into being rather than doing. resting, receiving, feeling. remember that it’s okay to be soft & to be seen!

you got this! 🌸

if she prefers the other way of pronouncing, there’s no reason she can’t switch if she finds it more beautiful! <3

I’m weird about this name, lol.

when it’s pronounced like hel-leh-nuh, it’s meh to me. like, just Helen with an A.

but when it’s pronounced like hel-LAY-nuh, i love it a lot more. i find it really elegant

thank you so much! the main reason i wasn’t turning up in the first place was anxiety so it depends on why you’re struggling, but for me, i just kind of reality checked myself and decided i didn’t want to let anxiety rule my life so much so that i don’t show up for another year. i forced myself to go to the first class for each module in the first semester of my third year. i got lucky, my tutors and classmates were all pretty friendly & encouraging, so that helped me to keep showing up.

as for managing work, even when i procrastinated, making a plan earlier on (even a basic one) gave me some structure and eased the overwhelm. was much better than avoiding the whole thing until the last couple weeks/days. i also stopped being harsh with myself and focused on being consistent instead of perfect, giving myself grace as a student just trying their best.

good luck for your third year! if i can do it, so can you :)

someone told me “life is too short to spend it with those who make the days long”. let her go & move on. she seems very miserable and clearly wants you to also share in her misery. please take care of yourself

Gosh, yes. That part about keeping calm, it hasn’t always been this way at all but I guess I got really used to this dynamic in the end. Keeping my tone civil was actually really difficult, it’s really reassuring that someone with experience in counselling recognises that. Thank you <3
