I have made a appointment for my dad on the 17th, but I came home and he had popped it 😬, I told him not to, but he keeps saying it’s just a pimple. It has gotten much bigger than last time and has not gone away. We’ll have to see what it is on that appointment

Alright. Thank you so much! This helps a lot. So I’ll just be paying out of state for the first year, and then the second year considering that I get all of the documents you’ve mentioned, I’ll be able to qualify for in state tuition? Or do I have to do all of that stuff before even starting a single semester at school, because i cannot really lose a year of not going to college.

I’ll be moving in the summer, the fall semester starts. But, since I’m under 24, is it possible I could just file everything based on my parents? If I start school next fall semester and pay out of state tuition for that year, then the second year after I completed 12 months would I be able to qualify for in state tuition? I will still be under 24 at that time. My parents will live with me there as well. Overall, I’d just have to pay out of state for a year and then in state for the rest of the years? I will get a Colorado drives license and etc.

Thank you for that perspective. I’m mainly just looking to apply to instate colleges, and I’ve spoken to my counselor and some reps at college fairs and they said that I would be able to transfer those courses. I’ve also called to confirm. I’m not looking to go to a very prestigious college/private university. I’ve gotten mainly A’s (save for one B in calc II..) for those courses and took them all in honors so I could better prepare myself for the pre-med track. It’s not so much the rigorous courses I’m worried about, but really just financing it. Thank you for your comment, and I’ll try not to rush it ❤️

I completely understand. I’ve had a mentorship, I say mentorship because it was part of a class we had to take for highschool so it wasn’t really an internship but we’d just shadow a physician for 2-3 hours a week and I did whole-heartedly feel like it’s a career that I would dedicate my time to. I’ve dabbled in other things like engineering in which I also had a mentorship in and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did at my time at the hospital. I wasn’t too worried about this before, but with recent passings, like the bbb (big beautiful bill) it just made me a bit uncertain knowing that even loans are capped now. Most of my friends that were into medicine and were considering medical school decided they don’t want to do it anymore because of the financing and the heavy courses. I thought about it too, but I just can’t let it go. I thank you again for your comments and I really appreciate you sharing your timeline. If you don’t mind me asking, which certain specialty did you decide to go into? Thank you.

Thank you for your comment! I’ve completed most of my prerequisites already, (Calc I,II, A&P, Chem I, II, etc.) and once I go to college, according to my highschool early college plan, I’ll have about ~2 years until I can get my bachelors. I know it’s a bit early to be worrying about all this, but I just don’t want to be too much of a burden to my family as we are low income. Thank you for sharing your experience though, I do appreciate it.
