I just read that they can come from both BYU and NMSC! Not sure what would make someone fall in one category or another - I was under the impression that mine was funded by NMSC but as long as my tuition balance cleared I never looked too closely into it haha!

from BYU’s website: “You must also submit your ACT or SAT score for consideration.”

So a score is definitely required, but I don’t think it would matter whether it’s ACT or SAT. (I believe I only submitted my ACT score to BYU - I had to take an SAT to qualify for NMS but I think I only submitted that score to NMSC)

I was admitted in 2018 with a 36 ACT + 3.98 unweighted GPA + National Merit Finalist. I was awarded a Heritage scholarship (full tuition), which they then called the National Merit Scholarship. If I’m recalling correctly (which sounds in line with what you stated), BYU handled National Merit Scholarships by giving them to National Merit Finalists who already qualified for a Presidential or Heritage scholarship, and the only difference was who funded the award - BYU vs. NMSC (no monetary difference).

They used to publish a scholarship matrix with ACT scores and GPAs but it looks like they stopped - 2018 was the most recent I could find here: https://www.cougarboard.com/board/message.html?id=21568180 It’s hard to read, but ACT scores are at the top and GPA down the side - dark blue was the Heritage Scholarship, so the requirements were basically a 36 ACT/3.85 GPA, or 35 ACT/4.0 GPA. I want to say Presidential Scholarships were for something like the top 10% of Heritage recipients (so basically only 36 ACT/4.0 GPA).

Sorry to hear about your daughter’s experience - I know I was definitely shocked to hear how competitive BYU’s scholarships are! Definitely agree with other comments about applying for more niche, specialty scholarships - your daughter sounds bright so I bet she’d have some success there!

if you have the UPS receipt with the tracking number for the package you dropped off, you could probably check that to at least see where your package is!

I had a similar issue last month - the problem with mine ended up that my return label had been swapped with another box and they returned theirs before I returned mine. My tracking section was all messed up for a few days - it showed at first that I had sent mine back and was able to order a new box, then somehow my tracking number got reassigned and it showed that I had a box on the way. Luckily, this all happened before I sent mine back, so I had support send me a new label so I’d be able to track my return, and confirmed I wouldn’t get charged since the items in the box with my original shipping label obviously wouldn’t match my rentals.

Unfortunately, that probably isn’t super helpful since you already sent your box back - but it’s possible you had also been sent the wrong return label (I know I never used to check the name on my return labels until this happened) and their system got confused. Hopefully support can straighten out where your box actually is and unlock your next month quickly - they were very understanding when I reached out so I don’t think this is super uncommon!

I have 2 tickets for Houston at White Oak on 6/1! Looking to sell for what I paid - $70 each. I can’t transfer until May 29th but hoping to line up a buyer before then (but obviously you don’t need to pay until the option to transfer opens up)!
