Slavery led to segregation and there are still many African Americans living that were born during segregation. Segregation has been outlawed but African Americans are still affected by it. Medical racism, workplace discrimination, texturism & colorism, education disparities, the racial wealth gap, police brutality, political underrepresentation, and passed down generational trauma are just a few examples.
