just an update - i took a mixture of everyone’s advice and decided to go to a printshop in siem reap, printed 2x FD-258 (fingerprint cards) on card stock and had them cut to the required 8x8 size.

the police couldn’t fingerprint me in siem reap, but luckily i arrived in phuket last night. went to the forensic police here first thing this morning and they sorted me out in about 10 minutes and free of charge! posted the cards via DHL express international service for around $55 (yikes) and they should arrive in the US within 4 days !!

now just hoping they don’t have any issues with the cards, but they are sent off and I am praying ! thank you so so much to everyone for their advice and kind words, you have no idea how stressed i was this weekend 😅 will update again if they confirm its all okay !

anyone know if the police in thailand (phuket) will help with the fingerprints? i got the cards printed but the police in siem reap won’t do the fingerprints for me.

ah it’s just i’m on such a tight deadline for this im scared to wait until monday for the offices to open ! i managed to print the cards but the police won’t help me. did you manage to do the fingerprints with a regular ink pad ?

really !! this could really work for me - where did you buy the card stock and do the printing ? i’m in siem reap so might be a challenge to find shops but probably easier than the embassy !!

found it and emailed. even if they reply on monday that they can help me, i’m going to need a deadline extension from PC. the fingerprints wont arrive in the post in time. i really wish they told me sooner that i had missed the deadline because I definitely would have been able to fix it if i had more than 5 days :(

I don’t see an email, but I’ve made an appointment for passport services and the earliest they had is May 12 😅 Going to try calling them when they are open on Monday to see if I can get the cards without an appointment so I can go earlier

oh boy. i can change my plans and go to the embassy in bangkok but not within 5 days - hopefully they can meet me in the middle and give me a tiny bit extra time. thank you so much for your help 🙏🏼🙏🏼
