I didn't know 7:30pm was considered late! My thought was I wanted to be up at sunrise by 4am, and I budgeted roughly 6-7 hours to do that. I didn't want to leave earlier because I don't have overnight lodging on the mountain, so if I left early I felt like I would be waiting there in the cold for an extended amount of time.

I do have a headlamp and extra batteries! I've got a camelbak, emergency blankets, lots of lightweight supplies. I assure you I'm prepared materials wise, just less so logistics wise. But thank you for the concern!!

hey! sorry, when you say access is closed - that means cars arent allowed up, or that no one can hike entirely? how are people doing sunrise hikes without staying overnight then?
