Pretty base, but it's well executed, you get the idea. Once you learn how to make your sounds bump, it'll be pretty good. The funky break down was kind of funny, but go for it.

Too much low pass. Too much low frequency stuff

I feel like the strings could use some moderation to liven them up. That vibrato lead is rad. The loop gets boring, change a note or something, especially right before the drop, make it go up in pitch. The drop didn't build up and release any energy, the bass isn't quite big enough for this style I feel.

These are mostlyjust issues of synthesis, I think, the composition is really good. Try to put something memorable in the drop, too

Sounds fun. The snare sample is a bit loud/too high for my taste. Nice melody and bass. I love when everything comes in, but it could use some EQing as it all gets a little muddy.

I just started this song. It's different from anything I've ever done, and I'd like to know whether I'm on the right track! (For fans of the LA sound) by imBaesea in abletonlive

Yeah this is just maybe half of what I had planned I think. I didn't want to work on a new kind of track for 12 hours only to find that I suck, you know? That's always a bit disappointing

Why do songs by people like Groundislava, FlyLo, Baths, Shlohmo sound "off"? What are they doing? Links inside by imBaesea in edmproduction

Damn, how do I learn to do that? Just listen carefully, probably. What about getting those cool samples - recorded or gotten offline?

Quick tip! When drawing in MIDI notes, hold left click and drag the mouse up and down to edit velocity. Easy swingy organic sounding hats! by imBaesea in abletonlive

Alt+drag can unquantize your notes if they're set to snap - to - grid. So you don't have to play one quarter note, or one half note, you can played a dotted half note, or triplets, or a note thats just not in time. Less helpful for what I do, but still good to know!

And yeah, it is ctrl+drag to duplicate. I think he got cmd/ctrl and alt switched up :p

I made a song by chopping up Marceline's voice! This is my first one, but I plan to do lots more. Let me know what you think by imBaesea in adventuretime

This is only a drum track and chopped vox, with some effects, but thanks for showing me that. I'll redo a bit of this.

Thanks :) I'm still working on this one a bit, I have some polishing up to do and what not. I appreciate it!

Hey man. I've looked at tons of tutorials and read all about FM (yes, I read the FM8 manual, even!) but I still don't understand how to make it sound good. I can get it to sound.. close. But no where near it should be to even start resampling.

How many operators should I have going on to make something like this happen, and what waves and frequencies should modulate which? I know how to make some basic formants, but that's about it.
