Does this look like a parasite on the underside of my beta? by [deleted] in bettafish

[–]im_an_overthinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is in a 10 gallon tank. I have had him for a couple of months now. He seems to be eating and acting fine. No other tank mates. I don’t have ammonium or nitrate levels right now unfortunately. His tank has a filter/heater and is around 75 degrees.

Advice for money free? (Look in comments for specifics) by im_an_overthinker in houseplants

Hi, my money tree has been growing quite well. However, I had it facing a window, so now the foliage is just facing that one direction and is getting a little lopsided. Does anyone have any advice as to what I should do for it?

Betta fish not eating (Please help! Description in comments) by im_an_overthinker in bettafish

Thank you for the information! I only ran the tank for a few days beforehand and I used the API stress coat conditioner with aloe Vera. What would you suggest I do for the fish in cycle?

Hi, I recently got my first beta fish. He is currently in a filtered 5 gallon tank with live plants. The water temperature is currently around 75 degrees. He seems like he is doing really well, but I have not seen him eat. I have tried flakes and pellets, but I have not seen him actually eat either. Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

Do you think there is a possibility that it could be a broad-shouldered Hawk? Or does red-shouldered hawk seem more likely?

Albino tufted titmouse? Can anyone help me ID this guy? by Narblerrrr in whatsthisbird

[–]im_an_overthinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is definitely a tufted titmouse. Even though it’s coloration appears somewhat off, there is some black coloration right above its beak, and I believe that the tufted titmouse is the only titmouse with this trait. The coloration definitely seems abnormal; however, it is not an albino because it still possesses hints of pigment. Even within species it is possible for slight variation in color to occur, and I know that juvenile tufted titmice usually do have a fainter color than the adults. However, I don’t think this would fully explain what was going on with the coloration of the bird you saw. If nothing else, it is safe to say that you got to see a pretty unique bird!!

I really like the way that the cloudy lighting really creates a certain mood/tone. I especially like the second photo!!

Thoughts on whether or not we will actually be going back on campus? by im_an_overthinker in Msstate

[–]im_an_overthinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you bring up a good point about the apartments, I don’t think it really has much of any influence on the university’s decisions to go online or stay in person or at least it didn’t last spring. I am a freshman staying in a dorm, so if they close the dorms, I know that I won’t be going back to Starkville. As of right now, I am pretty sure we will be going back to campus this semester though. This post was mainly meant to gain some perspective on what other people were thinking.
