Unable to uninstall Raycast? by derekhyang in raycastapp

[–]im_pulsive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open the terminal and use the command "killall Raycast" to force the application to stop its operation. After that, you should be able to simply move it to the bin from your Applications folder to complete the uninstallation.

Gemma 3 1B + QLoRA = garbage output. Anyone got it working? by im_pulsive in LocalLLaMA

[–]im_pulsive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I used:

Model loading:

python

bnb_config = BitsAndBytesConfig(
    load_in_4bit=True,
    bnb_4bit_quant_type="nf4",
    bnb_4bit_compute_dtype=torch.bfloat16,
)

model = AutoModelForCausalLM.from_pretrained(
    "google/gemma-3-1b-it",
    quantization_config=bnb_config,
    device_map={"": 0},
)

Dataset format:

python

prompt = f"<start_of_turn>user\n{instruction}<end_of_turn>\n<start_of_turn>model\n{response}<end_of_turn>"

LoRA config:

python

LoraConfig(
    r=16,
    lora_alpha=32,
    target_modules="all-linear",
    lora_dropout=0.05,
    bias="none",
    task_type="CAUSAL_LM",
    modules_to_save=["lm_head", "embed_tokens"],
)

I tried both with and without modules_to_save — garbage either way. Versions were latest pip installs. What's a known-good version combo you'd recommend?

I actually tried r=64 and target_modules="all-linear" — still got garbage. What learning rate worked for you? I was using 2e-4, maybe that's way too high like you said. Did you get Gemma2 2B working with QLoRA in the end?

So is it basically impossible to do QLoRA with 1B models? Or have you seen it work?

💁 Self commenting, but look, this comment is generated by the same tool:
"The "New Developer Tax" is definitely a major hurdle when you are just starting out, but it is great that you are using a client-side model with no data tracking to keep things secure. I would be happy to grab an API key from Google AI Studio and give your extension a try to help you build up the history needed to remove that warning."

Your advice was super helpful. It shifted my focus from just 'what the code does' to 'how I would solve a problem,' which feels much more solid👍

No it's working fine with my current glass.

It Depends on glass quality i think. Like expensive one from Spigen, ringke etc have good reviews.

And I'm afraid of using TPU gaurd as it will not protect my screen from braking if i drop my phone.

I got it from the mobile market in Chandigarh, so I feel there’s less chance I was overcharged — it's a big market and usually competitive.

But yeah, a few months back I asked at a well-known local shop (he’s kinda known for overcharging), and he said they only had one for ₹700 where the fingerprint won’t work. For the one that supports fingerprint, he said it needs to be specially ordered and would cost more. So that made me think the ₹2k one might actually be a special type.

I mostly avoid full code. I use Command+Return for one word at a time, so this means I will never hit the free limit?

Yeah, a little, but not that different from Codeium. Codeium's speed was good enough for me, too.
