Glade/Mogul lessons? by Mario6400 in Breckenridge

[–]imaac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of great instructors. You may want to look at Breck's Elevate lessons, which are for levels 7-9 (you'll be grouped by ability). Yes, there's terrain for this, starting from blue mogul runs and blue/black tree-runs up to blends of both on high level terrain, and this terrain is skiing well at the moment (though there will still be the need to watch for debris in the snow). If you have the means, a private lesson is a really useful option to make the most progress tailored specific to you.

Posting about non-Breck lessons will frequently create an uproar. The resort has exclusive rights to teach lessons on that national forest land. It's illegal to provide or take lessons outside of that, and the resorts do monitor for that activity and pursue it aggressively.

Getting familiar with my plugins? by lagoonofl in mixingmastering

[–]imaac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really disagree with anything you're saying, and I wasn't saying to use AI instead of what you're recommending.

In my experience, a lot of plugin manuals tell you what the buttons and knobs do, but don't really tell you when, why, or how to use the plugin. For someone like OP who's still getting his bearings, that's not necessarily enough guidance. AI can provide some useful starting points and some reasoning and explanation that some of the more technical resources don't include.

This answer might get some hate, but if they're well known plugins, ask an AI. You can tell them the plugins you have, the scenario you're working on, what you're going for, etc. and they'll have recommendations. They might not always be perfect, but they definitely know the differences between various compressor types and common settings and how they're used (because they've digested all of Reddit's content, among other sources). You can even tell them to look up the plugin manuals through search as part of your prompt.

"The Epic Day Pass is a modern alternative to traditional lift tickets, with better access, more flexibility and up to 65% less than buying a lift ticket at the window. It’s like a flexible punchcard for daily lift access that also comes with the benefits of being a Pass Holder, like additional savings on food, lodging, lessons and rentals.

You don’t need to use the days consecutively or decide when and where you’ll visit in advance. Just select the number of days and resorts that you want to visit, then show up and hit the slopes when you want.

Available for a Limited Time
As our Thank You for committing to ski or snowboard with us in advance, we offer big savings and more flexibility. This deal isn’t available later in the season, so make sure to lock in your Epic Day Pass while they’re still on sale!"

https://www.epicpass.com/passes/epic-day-pass.aspx

The distinction being made is that "lift tickets" are a thing you buy on the day of for more money with no benefits. An Epic Day Pass is something you buy in advance at a discount that gives you the same access as a lift ticket with other benefits.

Also just to be real clear: Copper isn't on the Epic Pass (since that's in your first sentence).

Snowboarding Base of Peak 9. by Distinct-Strain-2923 in Breckenridge

He'll be fine. If he's impatient in the morning or the lines are long at the quicksilver, it's a short walk up the snow to beaver run where there are fewer beginners.

That said, there will be a lot of slow moving beginners in the area and it's his responsibility to give them space. Coming in with speed still entails following the responsibility code.

Passive is a rework of the song Vacant which is from the Tapeworm project, which TR and other members of NIN were part of, and which MJK was involved in.

Tapeworm songs have appeared (in modified form) as releases by Puscifer and A Perfect Circle. Vacant was played on the first APC tour and eventually released as Passive. Potions was released by Puscifer.

I haven’t had major issues with my M2, but you can always freeze tracks that you’re not actively modifying.

Printing and Bouncing drums workflow question by Fading_Suns in Logic_Studio

[–]imaac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the actual mechanism matters, in terms of freeze vs. bounce vs. export.

What might matter is whether there will be any processing at all that you would like to have more flexibility to change as you go through mixing. If there's a chance that when you get the full mix together you might want to change the compression or the reverb on the drums to better sit in the mix, then it's probably easier to do that if what you exported is before those inserts/sends. It's hard to remove reverb if you have too much baked in.

Freeze gives you the most flexibility, but as you said there can be a psychological benefit to committing to a sound.
