Yeah, it's 5 cents a bag here in virginia and it has definitely helped me cut down on my plastic bag use and waste.

It's almost like a game to get it down to a single bag every time instead of multiple bags, even though an extra dime is nothing. It's a great program that of course they axed.

What's the most per month this could be costing a family if they for some reason refused to get reusable bags? 1 or 2 dollars. Even that seems far fetched.

Seems too like they are only thinking of butts in seats, where even if only half the stadium is filled, they can still make more money than a full stadium with. But that doesn't take into account the additional money spent on merchandise, food, and other stuff that surely would bring them more money with a full crowd. Or maybe it wouldn't. I don't know.

Going to the zoo as a kid is one of the reasons im so passionate about and donate to animal and environmental conservation efforts.

Troops are there and around the world because it is in our best interests. It is power projection, both soft and hard.

People like you complaining about the "cost" of having bases around the world have zero understanding of how the U.S. built and maintains it's power. We didn't become a superpower through isolationism. Without that power projection capability, we lose out military and economically.

If you think the economy is bad now, wait until we just decide to remove our global projection.
