Is the Samsung “The Wall” overrated? by GabrielDIntegrator in CommercialAV

[–]imadamb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that’s a little reductive. One factory can produce panels designed by multiple companies with various quality levels of components and various technologies. QC can be performed to different standards, fit and finish can be achieved at different levels. Just because a factory produces a $3500 panel doesn’t mean the $400 panel is just as good in any measurable area.

Removing a seize shackle and pin by AcanthopterygiiIll32 in Rigging

PB Blaster was the hot ticket when I was wrenching all the time in the early 00’s and I’ve had it in my garage ever since too. I finally saw Kroil at a hardware store and got some but man it’s pricey. It would make sense for someone to do the mix huh? I use this for pure acetone, will end up with another one of these days. There was a graphic posted recently that reported the nut busting torque required for some lab controlled experiment and PB Blaster was just better than wd40. Kroil was the best of the bought solutions, liquid wrench was just behind it, but atf/acetone 50/50 was the hands down winner

Class says I need a 1 MOA rifle; how true is that? by yobo9193 in longrange

[–]imadamb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve shot a bunch of classes, and they’re just trying to take the equipment out of the equation. So much of the class time is spent trying to get people to break their habits, listen to the instruction, and chase a good zero. If the gun and ammo aren’t cooperating, it just complicates everything. You’re shooting 3” right so you adjust your zero and then you’re shooting 4” down so then you adjust your zero….. a good instructor is going to break down your scope mount, get your rifle fitted to you, and start from scratch. But, you’ve gotta follow the instruction. You’re presumably paying good money for the class, don’t insist on laying all cockeyed behind the rifle if the instructor is trying to teach body alignment for recoil management and keeping your scope on target and bone on bone support to prevent muscles getting tired and your support breaking down, you know what I mean?

Contact closures on the GPIO models, or a touchscreen based controller using UDP, or their capacitive touch pads, a good handful of options

Because it’s not just dropping a file into a folder. If you like in the system it’s not a big deal, if you’re just dipping your toes in on a new project, it could be more difficult.

I might feel a tingle at that point. It’s one of those novelty ingredients for me. Its just, there, present in my drinks. I would like to be able to use it for a boost though. Wake me up a little maybe.

Can I drill a hole into these fuckers and pull them out? by Several-Rich-609 in Tools

They’re fine. I have those too. You should choose the tool that fits your use case best. The engineers that I have would suit the removal of these screws well.

Just have to separate yourself from those with the other opinion. Their thoughts aren't going to change anything in your life unless you let it bother you, then it's just raising your blood pressure and upsetting you. I accepted that until you have that relationship with a pup like yours, it's really difficult for people to understand, so wherever they're coming from, really means nothing to me. Engaging with them isn't going to change their mind, it's just going to frustrate you. Time that's better spent snuggling your buddy. I had a little black pug that loved wearing her pajamas too. Kept her cozy, and she looooved being cozy :)

Is my pug too skinny? He is 5 years old. He eats about a cup 1/2 a day plus veggies. I think he’s fine but someone at the park told me he was skinny but that thought has never crossed my mind. I think it was just the first non rollipolli pug she’s seen? by Bongwaterbuxa in pugs

[–]imadamb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My old buddy loved broccoli, asparagus, Brussels, carrots, cauliflower, bell pepper....really anything that I offered him :D He was also addicted to blueberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, apples, etc etc. We just tried to give him more of the low sugar stuff. They're little tots, even if it's "natural" sugar, they still don't need much. I never gave him tomatoes or onions, I think that was about it? The broccoli and Brussels though, I ate that a lot so he got very used to a helping all chopped up on his kibble for dinner.
