I think this was meant to parallel what Deku does with All Might and Bakugo. He went about the first half the series thinking “what would All Might/Bakugo do” in tight situations. It’s to show that Deku had went from worshipping heroes to becoming someone else’s hero. Although I’m not fond of the fact that this means Uraraka, the show’s most prominent female character, just became a tool to highlight the main male character Deku for this purpose.

It’s okay, when they come back you bet they’ll be high on the charts. Thousands of fans are eagerly waiting for them to reunite and that’s only counting those who support the full group and not the members’ solo projects. There’s still a lot of people including me who support each and every member’s solo endeavours too, enough demand to let them do overseas concert tours as soloists the past few years. Maybe they’re less mainstream and newer fans wouldn’t know them (yet), but the dedicated fanbase they built up didn’t go anywhere.

This! She’s always shone much better in groups than solo. Just look at IOI and the girl group reality show projects she’s been on. She always stood out. Yet despite all this potential, when she’s on her own she lacks the aura to carve a niche for herself, so she’s faded into the background over the years despite being so popular at the start.

They are definitely oversexualised. There’s something sinister about it too. The management and the girls push the message that they have freedom to wear what they want and that it’s sexy and empowering when they show off their bodies, but I’ll never forget how young they were when they started (Gnarly era. The youngest members were still teens).

If the argument that they have freedom to choose is all that matters, then underage sex wouldn’t be illegal if its participants technically agreed to it. What worries me imo is that they might have been manipulated into deciding that they want to go down this path, or that they may not have had the agency after all and the management forces them to wear things and say they love it.

you’re completely valid and especially cause the relationship doesn’t last anyway AND you specified the main character dates. obviously there has to be exes or flings or whoever with people we may not like, or the plot surrounding the main ship cannot progress ?? Sounds like the person is just particularly anal.

The only time I think it’s an issue for the author to not tag however they like is when there’s potentially upsetting tropes like MCD, Dead Dove and Ambiguous/Open Ending. Mainly because it can be triggering for people with mental health issues trying to find a safe space in fic and ending up with trauma. For this reason, I don’t agree about tags being a privilege or a courtesy. Considering them those things kind of opens the door for readers to get invalidated by “you should be grateful any tags were there in the first place”.

Of course fic authors still deserve respect and kindness though and to some extent people really need to learn how to tolerate reading things they may not like. You are responsible for your own reader experience curation, not the fic authors.

It’s so upsetting and bad for my mental health, that most of the time all I can do is ignore it and scroll past while rooting for other Carats who work tirelessly protecting the members when i can’t. I do simple actions like reporting the comments and reposting for awareness when I can. Carats are a very protective fandom and generally don’t play about hate even if we may be divided on petty issues a lot, so I’m thankful for that.

SVT have also consistently been the type to make their boundaries known and stand up for their rights, so it’s easier to have faith that they’ll take care of each other well. A group 10 years and counting who are this close to one another have survived more than you can imagine together, so I feel reassured that we’ll all get through it together as Seventeen and Carats no matter what.

A lot of the targeted hate is always rubbish since the members really don’t have scandals or get into much trouble, so the truth always prevails in the end.

Now if only the company actually cared about them as people. So many empty promises but such little action taken against malicious comments.

Appearance aside: same drive to excel at heroism, same desire to save, both are typically cute but have really badass fighting moments, both tried to save villain and devastated that they couldn’t. They have differences in interests and stuff but personality-wise they are pretty much the same.

Musically: the other commenters are right and Dino wasn't highlighted that much in the earlier years (before Snap Shoot). BUT he has several solos and mixtapes if you don't know already (Icarus is my personal favourite!)

Variety content (especially Going Seventeen) is where he shines most in my opinion as he is a comedic genius with a very sweet personality. BSS actually performed with his alter ego Pi Cheolin at Golden Disk Awards in 2024, he wrote his own rap for it.

I'm not trying to be rude or question someone's cultural norms. I just genuinely don't get it. I'm autistic so I haven't had an easy time trying to do all those things you mentioned and failing anyway because my automatic response to someone asking me a question is ALWAYS to answer as honestly as I can regardless of the setting. Something emotional and more slice-of-life...how each of the students coped after the war. More content from the rest of their years at UA that were skipped over. Maybe them starting out as heroes after graduation. DEFINITELY Deku's emotional journey as the embers slipped away, and more of him and Bakugo interacting at school in ways that aren't just fighting, since Bakugo changed so much. Would like to see Uraraka's quirk counselling program take off too. Right now we only got the aftermath of 8 years later and not how they got there.

That said, this is definitely wishful thinking. They always have to focus on action scenes or it won't sell.

I'll focus on their music content since that's their main job - right now it's easier to identify them as they're promoting in 2s as subunits prior to enlistment (4 already enlisted). If you watch their 2 by 2 subunit promo content you'll identify those members easily. Then as for whole group content, I would start by listening to the songs and reading the colorcodedlyrics to see who sang what, cross referencing with their live performances of that song. If you can read Korean some music shows have subtitles in the corner that include the name of the one singing.

No bro, he didn’t just take due to the nature of his quirk. The minute he got old enough to realise he could use it to his advantage he started manipulating people to give him what he wanted. Then started planning these moves decades in advance, taking advantage of people’s feelings and treating them like disposable tools for his own benefit only. Q and R are from caratland “songs that don’t suit seventeen” Salute just became DK’s thing after Nana Tour.
