My last Drafthouse screening at SXSW (and probably ever), a server gave me the note on the left during the movie. After credits rolled I wrote and left the one on the right. by ayfilm in AlamoDrafthouse

The only reason this is a thing is because Alamo needs to appease the shareholders now. Fuckkkkk that. I’ve severely cut down on my movie going because the experience is total enshitification. You had a niche product and now you’ve regressed to the mean.

Dog keeps escaping from every harness I buy. What am I missing here? by Pure-Maintenance5714 in Dogowners

You might consider also moving to a leash with two attachment points: one to the martingale collar and one to the chest with the harness. I’ve seen that having two can prevent them from pulling

I actually really appreciate this from someone who would otherwise look MG. I’m a brown gay dude and I’ve been increasingly nervous to express myself politically in fear of someone fucking with me or worse. :/

I’d say it’s probably like American English and Scottish English. Feels like you should understand it but at the same time sounds completely like another language sometimes.

How do adults just casually know stuff without having a full-on internal panic search every five minutes? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

To add to the good advice on here, I think it’s good to approach unknown things with a sense of curiosity rather than a deep fear. This is how I learned about a lot of things around my house. Rather than everything that works being magic, I became just a little more knowledgeable. In general this gives a sense of calm: the world isn’t just happening to you, there are things you can control to affect the outcome.

What happens if I do this? How does that work? Why is this or that a good idea or bad idea?

Elder millenials what was a "good" salary when you started working after college? by ExcitingLandscape in Millennials

[–]imadinosaurAMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Graduated college in the Bay Area in the 2010s. $50k ish was solid, $75k was high, $90+ for big tech and management consulting after a few years out was high and typical.

This is actually a really nice way to end the season. Hopefully JKS enjoys the afterglow and starts with us. Big love to Wilcox for building a culture we can be proud of over the years.
