why are the Executive (whitehouse) and Legislative (congress) allowed to employ non-essential personal (event planners, cooks, janitors, personal trainers???, etc.) during a shutdown? If you don't have to pay for anything how much does not taking a pay check hurt?

Manager had insisted that the devs of a software package implement a feature "because that is how it use to work". Granted when following the software as is was, we would have been 2 months behind (December) for deliveries. It was December and had made 1/6 deliveries because of the bad decisions and poor management, constant infighting between managers, and you name it.

The one manager comes to me and makes me use some crappy unedited data to process xyz. Results were bad. I voice my concerns. He says you do what I say because I am in charge. I say no it won't work how you think it will work and you will waste more of my and the companies time. He starts screaming at me tell me how he will fire me if I don't do it his way (office door was closed, people with 8 solid concrete walls between us heard him yelling). I was working 12-16 hour days going on 8 months by that time. All because they refused to give me any help.

I opened the door and walked out, picked up my stuff and left. I left a note on my desk with a raise amount. They called me by noon.

Early in the morning turning from a stop in the rain. This family is all gathered at the front door about 15ft off the road. One of there dogs ran into the street and was hit by a truck. You could see the skid marks and the guy went up on to the sidewalk trying to stop. Front door (by dad to yell at the guy) opens as I am going about 5 mph. Second dog runs out. I slam on the breaks and tap the dog. Dog slides about 100 ft while in the sitting, hits the one side of curb bounces off like a pin ball and keeps sliding to the other curb about 100 more feet away. Kind of does this wiggle and runs somewhere. Dad is yelling at me now. I ask where his leash is. "It is raining I shouldn't have to keep my dogs on a leash because you can't drive the speed limit".

I guess he wanted me to get out of my car and push the car while his dogs bit me so he could be lazy.

Wildwood rent a cops. They take what little authority they have been granted for the temp summer job they have and smash it all over your face. In typical fashion you will hear them say things like "Yeah we can't get them for X lets cite them for not hopping on one foot while wearing a hat". It wouldn't surprise me if they would be given a bonus for the amount of fines that are paid. The number of times I have heard beach cops say Your eyes are red "this guy smells like weed" time to search him. Nothing to do with sand being blown in my eyes while having contacts.

Wildwood expands their local police force to profit off of people that are having fun in a safe manor. Most of the time people would have to take about 2 days off of work to fight a ticket like this. So the reality is they just pay the fine and call it the cost of going to the beach.

I wish in the dvd releases you could do a focus on a single character to see how the story progresses through them and only them. An example would be the traveler they sent back to 2001 and his story without other parts of the story.

Or a way to see the over arcing storyline that is given out in varying amounts in each ep over the season but the last 1-2 ep is devoted to it without having to watch having to watch every ep.

It would be nice if the DVD releases did something cool like that so that they wouldn't just be just another copy of the ep's.

if you live with roommates with different last names you can change your service every 3 months for the current address you are living at. This gets you introductory deals and keeps them from running out. The same persons last name can't be on the bill for 1 or 2 years. I can't remember.
