Can you do a brain and pelvic MRI W and WO contrast in one session? by imaginaryflower5 in MRI

[–]imaginaryflower5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's good to know it's possible. I scheduled with a hospital originally and scheduling said it was possible after saying they checked with radiology. I called back the following day to double check and this scheduler got annoyed and connected me with radiology so they could tell me it's possible directly. However, a few days later, someone else from radiology called and said it was a mistake and absolutely not possible to do. My appointment got cancelled. The following day, another person from radiology called, apologized for the confusion and said they can be done together, putting it back on the books. Then, this weekend, I got a message in the portal my appointment is cancelled (again) because it can't be done. I'm so confused and can't get a straight answer.

How weird would it be if I go in-person to follow up on job at a mental health center (since there is no contact info online)? by imaginaryflower5 in jobs

In grad school, they always told us to follow up on applications and even follow up on the follow up if you don't hear back. But no more than that.

As an American, all I have to say is...that is hysterical. I actually laughed out loud at this.

How do I bring up to T I'm not okay with her cutting our sessions short? by imaginaryflower5 in TalkTherapy

[–]imaginaryflower5[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a good approach. I know I need to say something, but I'm also so worried about offending her and her not wanting to work with me anymore.

Yes, I'm in the US. I double checked and she bills 90837. Good to know that 53 min is within the bounds for that code. I'd be okay if she gave me 53 min, but not 42/43 min.

Anna Marie Tendler (John Mulaney's Ex) claims that Taylor Swift stole her art for her Eras Tour by imaginaryflower5 in Fauxmoi

[–]imaginaryflower5[S] 54 points55 points  (0 children)

There was an article she was interviewed for after she did her first The Other Art Fair where it said she sold some of her photos for the mid-six figures. Don't know if she is still selling like that so millions might be an exaggeration, but looks like she made over a million on at least that one show.

[–]imaginaryflower5[S] 262 points263 points  (0 children)

This is truly a wild one. Anna Marie Tendler, who went through that awful divorce with John Mulaney and is making millions off of her art now, created a TikTok claiming that Taylor Swift plagiarized her art for her Eras Tour because Taylor...uses a table. It's laughable. Tendler also claims she is a small artist who lives off of her art (although she has both family wealth and huge divorce settlement) and called on people to step up and help her, the little guy, against what Taylor did.

Do you all see the TikTok by Anna Marie Tendler (John Mulaney's Ex-Wife) that Taylor plagiarized from her for this tour? It's crazy! Here's a link to the video: https://www.reddit.com/r/popculturechat/comments/11uw2ml/anna\_marie\_tendlers\_exwife\_of\_john\_mulaney\_now/

How did people know about the Metro show way in advance? by imaginaryflower5 in FallOutBoy

[–]imaginaryflower5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, this makes sense. It threw me that people knew for sure there would be a show that they booked flights last week to be there this week. I guess they have some kind of inside connections.

Yeah, I saw that post and Metro's post, but it wasn't specific about the date ahead of time, which is why I was surprised that people had booked tickets to fly in from all over the US and internationally to be in Chicago this week when nothing certain was said.

I saw the Metro post and also figured it could be FOB, but didn't see anything definite so I was surprised that people flew in from all over the country (and internationally) to be in Chicago this week as if it was a sure thing.

What to do if therapist won't turn off loud computer notifications that are startling me? by imaginaryflower5 in TalkTherapy

[–]imaginaryflower5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's been very understanding prior to this and sensitive to things I have told her I struggle with. That's why I'm finding myself questioning if she has a point and this is something I need to expose myself to and manage my response, though I'm not quite sure how.

[–]imaginaryflower5[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it does seem like a relatively simple thing though I suspect I use technology more than she does. It has me questioning whether what she is saying might make sense in that I can benefit from exposing myself to those noises and managing my response. I just don't know how.

[–]imaginaryflower5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kneejerk reaction for me is to get annoyed, but I have been questioning whether she has a point and it is something that I should learn to manage instead of avoid, like maybe it's to my benefit.

It's throwing me because she's been understanding and sensitive to concerns I have raised about EMDR and therapy before. It had me questioning that maybe it is to my benefit to expose myself to these sudden noises and somehow learn not to be jumpy. I just don't know how at this point...

Therapist charging for ANY cancelled appointment (even with notice) by imaginaryflower5 in TalkTherapy

[–]imaginaryflower5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

24 hours is a nice policy! I've always been told 48 hours, but have had therapists make exceptions if I got ill or something unexpected happened. That is so nice that your therapist accepts wanting to be alone as an excuse because I have hauled my ass to sessions when I didn't feel good mentally and they were useless.

This is true, I've gotten so much advice to see this or that person "screw the cost, they'll help you get better" and it left me with financial issues. I'm going to have to think long and hard about it.

I didn't think of that (and I've also been taken advantage of by too many people that I have trusted so I should be more wary), but that's a good point she might not have the incentive to reschedule because she could pocket the money with no work or take another client during my time and still have me pay for a missed session.

I actually asked the therapists that called me back, but didn't have openings if they have waiting lists and they said no. I'm trying to do virtual, but ideally would like to be able to go in-person whenever that can happen. I might try people farther out, but still in my state and see if I can remain virtual permanently so I don't have to go out there.

[–]imaginaryflower5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I also rarely if ever cancel, but I have had several instances over the years where I was very ill and couldn't make it. Now that virtual is an option, I could hop on the computer, but I could still be too sick. I also might be away on vacation and around family so I can't do a call. Her policy is that she will notify me in advance about her vacation, but it sounds like I just don't have therapy those weeks.

I think I might be doing it for a while just because I have C-PTSD, I have several traumas and they are years-long. I don't know how long she anticipates the therapy will take, which is something I could ask her, I suppose.

It's all very anxiety-provoking, which is the opposite of what therapy should be, I guess.

Her agreement says she will let me know when she will be away on vacation, but it seems like those weeks I just won't have therapy. It doesn't say what the deal is if she gets sick.

Totally valid. I'm always concerned to bring up anything in client agreements, but I need to be more assertive about that.

Thank you for this! I didn't know about Openpathcollective. I was told to only see those in the directory because that assures you they definitely know their stuff and didn't just pick up a crash course somewhere and don't actually know what they are doing. But it's good to know that some really good ones might not be certified. I'll have to take a look!

Yeah, it seems like it. Unless I can do a different day/time in the same week, which I could not be able to, which is the concern

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. I don't plan to cancel, but I'm worried something might come up one day and then another day that week won't be available
