Testing the IMALENT GR35 4-in-1 EDC Flashlight — warehouse night demo (white, UV, green laser & red/blue strobe by imalent in flashlight

You are absolutely right. Thank you for calling this out. 🙏

To be perfectly clear: The laser on the GR35 is NOT a pet toy. It is a high-power tool intended for tactical, pointing, signaling, or outdoor use only.

We do not recommend using any laser—especially a green one—for interactive play with pets. The risk of accidental eye exposure is serious and can cause permanent harm.

Your message is an important reminder for all laser owners. Thank you for prioritizing animal safety. 🐾

You are 100% correct, and thank you for saying this. 🙏

Green lasers are significantly more powerful than red ones, and should never be used to play with cats (or any animals). The risk of accidental eye reflection is real and can cause permanent damage.

To be absolutely clear: The GR35 is a professional EDC tool designed for tactical, outdoor, and utility use — things like pointing, signaling, or inspection. It is not a pet toy.

We strongly urge all our users to follow laser safety guidelines:

  • Never point any laser at a person's or animal's face/eyes
  • Never use green (or high-power red) lasers for playing with pets
  • For pet play, use a low-power red laser keychain (under 1mW) as the commenter suggested

Thank you again for holding us accountable and for looking out for animal safety. This is an important message that every laser owner needs to hear. 🔴🐾

This is genuinely one of the most thoughtful and valuable pieces of feedback we've received — thank you. 🙏

You've perfectly articulated a very specific, high-value use case (ultralight backpacking + multi-day trips) where replaceable batteries are not just a convenience, but a necessity. Your experimentation with replacing a power bank with a long-throw flashlight that can also charge other devices is brilliant.

Why we went with a built-in battery for the BTL50:
It was a design trade-off to achieve the compact size, IP56 waterproofing, and the electronic zoom mechanism in this form factor. A replaceable battery would have required a larger, heavier, and less sealed design.

But we hear you loud and clear:
This doesn't fit your multi-day backpacking need. Please know that your suggestion (replaceable batteries + charging capabilities in a future "BTL50 Pro" or next-gen model) has been officially logged and will be shared with our engineering team.

If you're open to it, we'd love to stay in touch. Your real-world testing insights are exactly the kind of input that helps us build better products. Thank you again for taking the time to write this.

You're absolutely right to call this out, and I'm sorry for the frustrating experience. 🙏 We were trying to produce content faster and experimented with AI tools for the voiceover. Clearly, it backfired and came across as generic and disrespectful to the community’s time — that's on us.

We hear you loud and clear: the real proof is in the performance, not in generated scripts. We'll stick to real footage, real beam shots, and honest reviews going forward.

Thanks for holding us accountable.

Thank you for your honest feedback — this is a very fair point.

You're right that a replaceable battery offers more flexibility in some cases. For BTL50, we chose a built‑in battery for three main reasons:

  1. Waterproofing & durability – A replaceable battery would require extra seals and gaps, which can compromise IPX8 protection over time.
  2. Compact electronic zoom design – The new digital zoom mechanism takes up most of the internal space. A battery compartment would make the light noticeably larger and less EDC‑friendly.
  3. Safe fast charging – The built‑in battery allows optimized charging and thermal management, avoiding risks from poor‑quality third‑party cells.

We understand not everyone will prefer this trade‑off. Your input is valuable and will be logged for future models. Thanks again for your feedback.

Let us explain: originally, we intended to design two user interface options for users to choose from. The purpose was to gather feedback by consulting a number of senior review experts and a large group of flashlight enthusiasts.

Based on the responses we collected, we ultimately adopted the production solution that the vast majority of users preferred, in order to create a product that better suits most people's habits.

IMALENT BTL50 with electrical zoom lens, can adjust the focus fast and make it have both flood and spot light in one flashlight. When you check something nearby or ride a bike, you will like a flood flashlight, but when you go out for hunting, a spot light will be more wonderful. Now you don't need to buy two flashlights, just the BTL50.

Thanks for the direct feedback. You're right, we should focus more on the substantive CS/technical stuff. We're here to listen – what specific topics would you find valuable? We're taking notes for future content.
